Ireland drawn into 'new Cold War' as Vladimir Putin flexes muscles after Russian bombers

The Republic found itself at the centre of the latest muscle-flexing exercise by Vladimir Putin after Russian bombers capable of carrying nuclear weapons flew past the west coast.

A diplomatic spat erupted as the Irish Government warned it was “absolutely unacceptable” that the two Tupolev 95s were in Irish-controlled airspace for five hours without notifying the authorities.

The planes were flying with their transponders switched off – meaning they could not be ‘seen’ by civilian aircraft as they passed through the busy airspace, where around 1,800 planes a day travel.

The aircraft were tracked by RAF Typhoon jets for more than 12 hours as they flew from the Norwegian Sea, along the west coast before banking east and travelling south of the UK.

There were some Irish who volunteered for the Royal Army in World War 2.

Not just the Army they served in the RAF and the Royal Navy. One Irish V.C. who tried to return to Ireland after W.W.II was driven out by the IRA.

The Government of Ireland hand-delivered a letter of condolence to the German Embassy in Dublin when Hitler shot himself.

I had just seen it also. It is remarkably sickening what you will find on any given subject concerning Putin, including mother...
She was still breastfeeding their youngest child, a two and a half month old girl, when she was taken away, he said.

The woman -- who faces between 12 and 20 years in prison -- is being held at the high-security Lefortovo jail in Moscow, her lawyer Andrei Stebenev told AFP.

"She called where she was not supposed to call and said what she was not supposed to say," said Stebenev, who has been appointed by the state.

How could the mother give troop movements to the enemy when there are no troops moving and there is no enemy - as Putin and his disgusting lackeys on this forum claim??

Guns and rockets! They worked, when mounted on a C.O.I.N. T-28 Trojan over South Vietnam.

Kind of pointless to have such support craft without stuff to support.

They might be able to upgrade to second-hand Warthogs soon.

Possibly!

There is one good thing:
Russian bombers no longer have armed turrets, and with a warthog, if something is within a mile and a half:
munch, munch, munch!!!

You will find, if you deal in only the facts, that many thousands of Irish men, irrespective of their government’s wartime neutral stance, fought with the British army and allies during World War 2, my grandfather and great uncle amongst them. Both survived; one is still alive.
