British citizens think worse of Israel than they do about any other non-European country except for North Korea, a British survey published this week found.

Answering the question "Which of the following do you feel especially unfavorable toward?" 35 percent named Israel – scoring two points worse than Iran, the poll found.

With 47 percent, North Korea won the worst score, the Chathan House-YouGov poll found.

Except the British aren’t disarmed. You have been on many UK gun threads, you know this, I have corrected you personally several times. Yet you keep peddling this lie.

Bad gun laws, yes. Unarmed, no.

Not too surprising. When the Brits controlled "Palestine", they did not want the jews returning to their homeland. They threw the returning jews in camps.

One of the least pleasant features of Burke’s world view is his transparent anti-semitism. In Reflections, he writes of “...Jew brokers contending with each other who could best remedy with fraudulent circulation and depreciated paper the wretchedness and ruin brought on their country by their degenerate councils...” and of post revolutionary France he affirms that “The next generation of the nobility will resemble the artificers and clowns, the money-jobbers, usurers and Jews who will always be their fellows and sometimes their masters.” ...In the context of Burke’s attack on Jews as purveyors of worthless paper money in revolutionary France, it is worth noting his comment on the situation in England: “... not one shilling of paper money of any description is received but of choice... the whole has had its origin in cash actually deposited... it is convertible, at pleasure, in an instant and without the smallest loss, into cash again.” This is, of course totally false. Burke appears to have been unware that fractional reserve banking was well underway in England during his time. Maybe he should have consulted his friend Adam Smith before making so bold with this misguided display of familiarity with the banking system... the number of Burke’s predictions that failed to materialise: the demise of Christianity in France, and of civilisation along with it, the takeover of that country by malevolent Jews and so on. They also fail to acknowledge that the modern world has opted for the basic tenets of the Revolution... Burke would probably have shrunk into a footnote of history if a handful of politicians and scholars had not found nourishment in his works for their prejudices. — https://www.opendemocracy.net/ourkingdom/jeremy-fox/edmund-burke-unspoken-villainy

I can understand it, which is why I bring it up. On the other hand, the British seem to have forgiven the Germans who did worse damage.

Of course, the Germans did get theirs in spades.

And America wanted no Jews, not once but twice: 1938-39 and 1945-46. Even as the former were being murdered in camps. And when a MILLION Americans were paid up members of the American Nazi Party.

Wasn’t England the first European country to expel its Jews (in 1290)? They weren’t permitted to return until 1657, under the reign of Oliver Cromwell, in return for finance.

Also, England was the country in which the ritual murder charge, i.e., the “blood libel,” first began to circulate, with the death of William of Norwich in the 12th century.

Sorry, but a lot of Israel haters say that though they hate Israel, they don’t hate Jews. In most cases, they’re just lying.

No we don’t. We will never forgive them, what we don’t do is blame modern Germans for their grandparents evils.

And others aren’t. Equating the two is lazy and simplistic.

Well, then why be mad at modern Israelis for the King David Hotel?

Well, its one ahead of you. So Americans are bigger anti-Semites than the British.

(of course, the study shows NEITHER are, and are actually NON-anti-Semitic, both countries keep the noxious idea on the fringes, as they have always done)

Because many pro-Israelis simply REFUSE to admit what happened and CONDONE, even SUPPORT what happened. And in 2006, the Israeli Govt actually held a celebration of the event (which the UK protested).

That’s the difference.

...and the vast majority of Jews are leftist.

I'm not so sure this is true. The majority of Jews in Israel vote for conservative/moderate candidates, not left-wing parties. In the US, the majority seem to support democrats, but much of this is due to historical and cultural affinities, not necessarily political philosophy. Many people vote a certain way because their family and friends do so, not out of any firmly held principles.

In my studies and observations, I have noted that the proportion of Jews who are conservative seems to be increasing year by year. While there are still, lamentably, many leftist Jews, I doubt that they are the "vast majority."

Israel’s right and American conservatives aren’t very much alike. Things like federalism and Constitutional limitations on government power just don’t register with Israelis.

There’s two ways Jews become more conservative in America: They assimilate and disappear as Jews, or, they become religious.

Interesting—did not know that. Certainly that wasn’t in good taste.
