As the Department of Defense considers the question, former Navy SEAL Ray Cash Care says he has an answer: Hell no.
A few weeks ago, it was reported in Navy Times that the Department of Defense will make a decision on opening the SEAL and SWCC ranks to women in January of 2016. If the DoD decides in favor of allowing women, the Navy would then notify Congress by July 1, and Congress would then have 30 working days to respond with any concerns. I'd like to jump ahead of Congress, save them some trouble and tell them right here, right now that this is a terrible idea. Concerns? I have many. Now before anyone gets too bent out of shape, understand that this doesn't come from a "women should stay home and be housewives" mentality. From Navy divers to Explosive Ordinance Disposal up to fighter pilots, women's role in the military is crucial to the success and duration of America. I have nothing but admiration for the contributions women make to the defense of our great nation. But I do not think the SEAL teams should allow women. BUD/S, which stands for Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training, is the most physically and psychologically grueling schooling a man can go through. My class began with over 120 men. Of that, 16 originals graduated, with some additional guys who were in from other classes who were delayed due to injuries. There's an 80% attrition rate at BUD/S, and that is rounding down.

No.
Well, Demi Moore did it, so I guess it isn’t all that difficult.

no
if we have to ask....
I surrender.
Nor should women be in the infantry or Direct Support artillery. We are in the business of winning wars, not making people believe fantasy stories that war - organized strenuous murder for the survival of our country - has changed.
Women are not suited for it, physically or emotionally and they would only distract from the execution of the mission.
End of story.
My question is can women become a SEAL? Do we have to lower the requirements for one group op people to keep a tyrants warm and fuzzes?
Nope....
Within a year of allowing women in all US Special Forces the commanding general of Special Operations Command will be a woman LGBT Commie Jihadist.
There, fixed it. Destruction is Obama's middle name.
Of course females can be Navy SEALs. Didn’t you see the Demi Moore movie? ;-)
Not only NO, but, He** NO!
NO
Absolutely F-ing NOT.
Buds would be hard enough for them, but SERE would be the killer.
Dumb question.
If there’s a person who meets the extremely rigid requirements, that person can be considered for becoming a seal. The requirements should not be relaxed for any one.
Well, what if a woman can endure every aspect of the training, including superior strength to a male counterpart?
One of the reasons why there are 20 million illegal aliens in this country is because females were allowed to feminize the US Border Patrol. A once respected and feared law enforcement agency is now an impotent nanny care taker of illegal aliens. SOF Chics will be the death of special operations as an effective military component.
I don’t think women belong in combat, nor SEALs, but SERE... plenty women qualify there.
What about gay, lesbian, and transgender SEALs?
