Does this stealth argument also apply to the F22 [it does]?
If so, why aren’t folks getting their panties in wad over this as well vs. the persistent ire towards the F35?
This isn’t just about the F35, it’s about our entire capability to wage and WIN war...on land, sea and air.
The procurement process is corrupted all the way to DC...
I’m out...damn...I should know better than to even look at these threads...the amount of ignorance that is present is just too much to overcome or even contemplate.
” The procurement process is corrupted all the way to DC...”
100%
Yes sparky. The argument does indeed apply to the 22 as well. But it doesn’t get people excited like it does on the 35 because the 22 is a capable fighter plane on its own with basically F-15 performance.
The F-35 is a different concept, “forget performance and hope stealth does it all”. Very different from the F-22. (all 187 of them, production line closed and tooling destroyed)
The hate for the F35 stems from what it’s being pushed for.
I like the M16 and M4. Capable weapons on a decent platform. However, I would still rather have an M14 in some situations. Now, if someone told me it’s the M16 for everything, I’d be real upset.
That’s what’s happening. The F35 might possibly be a decent replacement for the F18. However it sucks as a replacement for the F16 and A10.
The F22 is a decent replacement for the F16. It’s actually in the realm of argument. It’s lunacy to try and make the argument which is what the pentagon is trying to do.
