At a stop on his book tour Tuesday, Mike Huckabee again defended his decision as Arkansas governor to grant the children of illegal immigrants in-state tuition at state universities.
But he also went a step further, hinting that those children should be put on a path to citizenship a position more in line with Democrats and DREAMers than some of Huckabees more conservative Republican peers who are also weighing bids for the presidency.

When will we realize that we can grant benefit to non-citizens who have never set foot on American soil? Why aren’t these individuals entitled to education, food, shelter, health care, the ballot, and jobs? Why should anybody be discriminated against for lack of residency?
Huckaturd will not get my vote. Always pandering to what ever group he talks to.
Huckabee thinks its unchristian to control the borders.
Since he’s running for office he is careful how he says it, but thats his opinion when he’s not running for office.
I don’t like his version of “Green Eggs and Ham” I will not vote for him or anyone that wants any form of Amnesty!!!
I know it will anger his supporters to say so, but the sad fact is that Huckabee is a fraud when he claims conservative credentials.
His mission for the next 16 months or so is to make money from his most recent book and to divert conservative votes from true conservatives such as Ted Cruz and Scott Walker.
IMHO he is the Benny Hinn of Republican politics.
I just hope FOX News already gave away his time slot. Not that I ever watched the show.
Exactly... and why again do we have “borders?”
So, according to the Huckster and other mushy headed RINOs and Liberals, anyone who wants to be a legal citizen of another country just needs to sneak across their border and demand immediate citizenship.
The Huckster should try doing that with Mexico himself and let us know how it works out.
When Mike Huckabee came to Chattanooga in 2008 I got to ask him about his stance on the illegals..
He was smiling and friendly and shaking my hand until then..
He dropped my hand and ignored my question and moved on..
Chuck Norris was with him and scowled at me as though I should not have asked Huckabee about illegal aliens...
I’m with you. But so far, they are all open-border candidates. (Even Cruz would eventually legalize the 20M+ illegals currently here, which through chain migration would expand to 60M+ majority welfare-dependent, affirmative action-favored, low-skill, Leftist voters.)
OK Gov. Mary Fallin seems the only really qualified candidate who isn’t. Maybe we should start a “Draft Fallin” movement!
Its best early on for conservatives to realize that under that thin folksy veneer Huckabee is a bit demented and delusional.
dat right dere is fuuunny!
Huckabee will fade away,no worries.
Sadly, Huck is not alone in this. Cain, Carson, and assorted other purportedly conservative, cashing-in candidates regularly defraud and split the conservative vote to the benefit of the Establishment candidate.
Huckabee is a hard-core, Obama-worshipping, Pelosi-licking Liberal Democrat.
It seems like they’ll all go the way of the Amnesty Appeaser. I won’t vote for any of them. My hope is that Cruz doesn’t succumb and start down that path.
Well, I usually like Chuck Norris. But I don’t like him picking on you, Tennessee Nana. He may heart Huckabee, but I don’t heart anyone who loves deportable invaders. If Norris keeps on going after people who stand up for US sovereignty, I hope Bruce Lee comes back from the grave and beats his rear end again.
I hope that puts a stake in the heart of his presidential ambitions.
Fascinating analogy! And both men have sheep who fall for their flapdoodle....
