Forget the post-PC era. The Mac just continues to get bigger. For its fiscal 2015 first quarter that ended Dec. 27, 2014, Apple sold 5.5 million Macs. That’s up 9% year-over-year and up 14% from the previous quarter and brought in revenue of US$6.9 billion.

Apple has gained market share verses Windows PCs in all quarters since 2005 but one. The Mac has surpassed overall PC growth for 34 of the last 35 quarters. The Mac’s unit share of the worldwide PC market has grown from 2.1% in 2005 to 5.5% in 2013. Apple’s U.S. market share is somewhere between 10% and 14%, depending on whose statistics you believe.

Well, I am wondering why the leftists are going after Apple for their obscene profits?
They do for oil or energy companies. Could it be they are complete hypocrits?

But that all changed years ago when Apple embraced Intel and dropped RISC processors.

It wasn’t the CPU chip that made the PC/Mac divide, at least in the terminology and in the common usage of the Macintosh crowd.

BUT since Apple has pulled over many of the former “PC crowd” ... they don’t come into the community with that kind of background culture.

For those of us who were around when the great Super Bowl commercial was aired by Apple, we know what it means.

Since the primary reason for any corporation to exist is to make money for its shareholders... it seems quite obvious what ever Apple is doing is working. It must be a very good idea for them to spend over a billion dollars every year on marketing.

Now don’t get me wrong I love gizmos as much or more than almost anyone else you can think of. But to me it seems quite incredible that the most profitable company in the history of the world is making all of this money churning out gizmos that lets face it most people use more for wiling away countless hours rather than doing something productive. I am as guilty as anyone here for that. I would speculate that only a wide spread addiction to unproductive behaviors could cause so many people to part with so much money.

With that in mind... Apple may also be doing more for world peace than any country in the history of the world also. Even terrorists are probably sitting around wasting time on their apple devices rather than engaging in productive terrorist activities. I mean seriously, most terrorists would probably rather sit around tapping on the screens of their iPhones these days than actually blowing themselves up.

“It’s actually been increasing for quite a few years and long before Windows 8.”

Vista was the final straw for me. Macs are fine, but Linux was cheaper.

“People who still use PC’s probably also have a couple of British cars, so they have at least one that’s working when they need to go somewhere.”

People that write nonsense like that are probably Mac users.

The only OS vendor that will not allow you to create a virtual guest with their OS on any hardware but their own is Apple.

All you iphone folks are being spied on by the mothership. Google isn’t much better, but because their OS is linux-based, there are work-arounds.
