I don’t know...I just have a hard time with the idea of me giving a curtsy to anyone. I would not expect anyone to curtsy me. If we curtsied each other, that would be ok.
Funny. On another subject. I worked in prison one time in past and an inmate refused to shake my hand because I was female. He was Muslim and the man that was with me got so mad because of that. All this occurred before 911, before I knew any thing about Islam.
American women have had problems with the curtsy. Barbra Streisand asked Queen Elizabeth why it was expected. Liz was puzzled and said “Well, I guess because it’s always done!”
