A Lubbock Texas judge made international headlines earlier this year for his prediction that if President Obama is reelected on Tuesday, it will open the door for a United Nations invasion.
Judge Tom Head told a local radio station in September that the president will: “Try to give the sovereignty of the United States away. He’s going to call in the UN troops, personnel carriers, tanks and whatever.”
The proclamation drew widespread scorn and ridicule both at home and abroad. Even the office of the Secretary General weighed in on Head’s prediction.
“It’s absolutely ridiculous,” said a spokesperson for UN chief Ban Ki Moon.
But while a United Nations scheme to send the blue helmets marching up Pennsylvania Avenue seems laughable, amazingly enough a number of world powers (both friendly and hostile to Washington) have had plans on the books for a take over of the United States. Where ever I find toy cars and trucks I check through them a little to see if I can find something for my son. He is a Marine and I keep my eye open for a miniature of the military vehicle he drove in Afghanistan.
I was in a Family Dollar store just last week and checked their bins. They did have plastic toy military vehicles. Instead of a US Military Branch symbol on the hood, it had a blue “UN”.
I also find many of the readers' comments interesting.

Some will believe this paranoia until the day he leaves office, then they will forget they ever ranted about it for 8 years.
Blue helmets are an automatic target around my house.
If there is an invasion, it will NOT be the U.N. but rather China.

I was thinking in more conventional terms....military.
This came up in a seminar I took last year on military history. The professor asked us, "What would you do if the Canadian army invaded?" and the answers ranged from "Throw a hell of a party" to "You could only tell by the tidied-up campgrounds and the thank-you notes."
After the failed invasion of Canada in 1812 the two countries have only really had one decent attempt to go to war - the great 1859 Pig War. Unfortunately nobody could really work up enough enthusiasm, mostly, one suspects, from embarrassment.
King Edward VIII, also while the Prince of Wales, gave the Americans reason for some concern and contingency planning with his pro-Fascist activities.
I know, I have often thought about it but came to the conclusion that we are a bit like an island. I’m sure those who do military strategy are having a blast with it. Come to think of it, I could probably find it online.
Most people don’t think it could happen here. They are not looking at the decimation of our national security, the projected weakness and stupidity of Obama, the globally interlinked but horribly fragile economic system, the loss of work ethic and morality of a great segment of our population, nor do they really see (or even care about) what is taking place worldwide. Overall, our people have turned their backs on God. It is nothing less than history repeating itself...but then real history hasn’t been taught within most of our system of education for more than a half of a century.
Personally, aside from the threat of Islam, I expect to see North Korea TRY something and Russia or China DO something. We are unprepared.
