When Mr. GG2 lived in Alaska he had an acquaintance who owned two of those bear dogs. The mother had actually saved his life by taking on a Grizzly that attacked him in his backyard. The dog was horribly scarred but survived it. I’m sure they could rip up a wolf with no problem.

My sister and her husband came thisclose to getting a Caucasian after their other dogs passed away. They settled instead for a German Shepherd whose bloodline guaranteed she'd get big. About 120 pounds at this point. And she ain't done sprouting yet. Sweet dog, though, but she'd outright eat you if she didn't know you when you stepped into her territory.
