Q: If the above statement is not true – and (see below) it isn’t – would it make it any more true were it to be uttered in an important speech at Davos by fashion designer, songwriter and hip hop producer Pharrell Williams?...
It began spreading earlier this month when NASA GISS’s director Gavin Schmidt held a press conference to declare that 2014 was the hottest year ever recorded. This sounded jolly impressive.
But there were, it subsequently emerged, several things wrong with this headline story.
The first – which, admittedly, you would have realised had you read reports like this one in the Guardian – is that “hottest year on record” isn’t quite so dramatic as initially sounds.
The second is, as David Rose noted in the Mail On Sunday, that the criteria by which NASA declared “2014 was the hottest year on record” do not stand up to serious scientific scrutiny.
Yet the Nasa press release failed to mention this, as well as the fact that the alleged ‘record’ amounted to an increase over 2010, the previous ‘warmest year’, of just two-hundredths of a degree – or 0.02C. The margin of error is said by scientists to be approximately 0.1C – several times as much.
As a result, GISS’s director Gavin Schmidt has now admitted Nasa thinks the likelihood that 2014 was the warmest year since 1880 is just 38 per cent.
Odds of 38 per cent are not a racing certainty. If you translated it into a bet you’d lose more often than you’d win. NASA was lying to us. Or, at best, wilfully misleading us.

The thing about the economic terrorists is they always lie and then state their lies as fact without showing one shred of proof and the lemmings accept it. This has been going on forever especially with economic terrorist Al Gore in the lead such as in his economic terrorist training video “An incontinent truth” where he shows a mountain with snow in the winter and then with less snow in the summer, and then actually trying to explain there is less snow because of global warming which is absolutely ludicrous. But he says it anyway because nobody is there to debate his terrorist ass. By the way the economic terrorist in the White House, B. Hussein announced last month he is putting more regulations on gas and oil companies to curb Methane production. Now that’s undoubtedly going to raise the cost of oil and gas which is yet another attack on our economy by these vile economic terrorists like B. Hussein, but if you’ll notice nobody ever countered him on his terrorist attack by exposing the fact that the percentage of Methane in the atmosphere is only 0.00017% which is like someone peeing in the ocean and expecting the sea to turn yellow. Regulating output of methane is going to do absolutely nothing, he’s only doing it because he’s an economic terrorist, they all are.

It was a “consensus” of stupid scientists driven by a political agenda.

the reason NASA said it was the hottest yearb on record is because the president wanted to state it was in his presidential speech so a political hac in NASA was contacted and told to say this a Week before the state of the union address by President Obama.

I remember it being much hotter in May and June fifty years ago. The heat was intense at times.
