Congressmember Lois Capps thought President Barack Obama had lingered longer than usual on the House floor after his sixth State of the Union address Tuesday night. She said she felt like a “groupie.”
“I had an opportunity to shake his hand and tell him how proud of him I was,” she said. “Then I turned around, and he was still there.” Most importantly, Capps had the opportunity to give Obama a photograph of Christopher Michaels-Martinez as a young boy.
Michaels-Martinez was a bright UCSB student gunned down last May in the Isla Vista massacre perpetrated by a mentally ill City College dropout. His father, Richard Martinez, a Santa Maria lawyer turned gun-control activist, was seated in the gallery as Capps’s guest.
Martinez has been jet-setting around the country as a representative of the advocacy organization Everytown for Gun Safety, which grew out of the Newtown school shooting. Obama did not speak to gun-control in his address, although

Gun violence... as though a gun can be violent all on its own. Guns must sprout legs & go on shooting sprees when their owners are not looking.
The US is number one in gun ownership yet 111th in gun crimes. When you take out the ten most dangerous cities (and they so happen to be controlled by DemocRats) the US is far down the list of most crimes with guns.
In their mind, in using any feature that could be used to help them reach their cause, they're being creative, showing their talent and worth.
The focus is never to register any of their own hypocrisy. They look to show the world how even the most insignificant, otherwise overlooked things can be wedged to help the Left achieve their causes.
Ain't they special? Well, only a special kind of self-serving evil.

Oh yes they do, and massively. They mass-produce mental illness in liberal-controlled public schools, liberal-owned media, and other forms of popular culture. They invest heavily in producing customers for their growing police-social welfare state, all of which votes Democrat, heavily.
