If you want to take away the influence of these oil producing nations, then you’ll need to develop a new form of energy that the world can use in place of oil. Sooner or later that will need to be done, but I really don’t see a single thing on the horizon to replace these oil producing nations. I think we’re stuck with them ... for our lifetimes, at least.

The real question is, how long can these oil producing nations handle cheap oil?

Why?

I firmly believe oil is produced by the oceans at a rate we could never keep up with. The dead plankton etc constantly falls to the bottom and turns to ooze. In many cases it travels underground via caverns or porous strata to potential well sites onshore.

We just need new and better methods of discovering and extracting it from inner space.

There is a lot more oil in other places than these oil exporter nations.

Frakking drill, baby, drill! Worldwide the more the merrier.

That’s right; fig, goat cheese and crude butter sandwiches.
