From the article: They know that every time a cartoon about the Prophet Muhammad is published, the feelings of more than a billion Muslims are hurt...

And, so, the San Jose Mercury News is telling us...that sentimentalism should rule the day...

If you put out truth that, say, the UFO cult in San Diego was a cult, you might have prevented some suicides...but, hey, those suicides' feelings might have been hurt presuicide.

Or, what if more people had told the truth about Jones operating in the Bay Area and his consequential Jonestown? Nope. Would have hurt some feelings. Keep it to yourself.

And, hey, don't tell Satanists they are barking up the occultic tree. (Might hurt some feelings)

Or, if the Scientologists nonsense about "clearing" and how people came from about planet is likewise nonsense...wouldn't want to hurt their feelings now, would we?

My feelings are hurt every time the Quran is mentioned. Especially the Surahs that call for the forceful submission of all non-Muslims. That said, I am still in favor of allowing the crapulous mass of nonsense to be read so that men may know the true nature of Islam, Allah, and his prophet Mohammed (pig excrement be upon him).
