Pray give me summaries of what our Intelligence predicted [about German strategy and will to resist] on the two previous dates, and what they predict now. Each summary should be limited to fifteen lines. Nothing must be circulated until I have had an opportunity of reading these summaries. Do not let the officers concerned know that what they said a few months ago is being compared with what they say now. It would only dishearten them.

Concerning the p10 article about U.S. mother fighting as Luzon guerrilla. Note the final sentence. "On Luzon, the Filipinos are almost unanimously loyal to America, she added".
That's a big choking point the Left has with the Philippines during WWII when it comes time to writing books, making movies and raising up heroes.

The only thing worse than January in the Battle of the Bulge is January in the Battle of the Atlantic. Doenitz never fully bought into the invincibility of Enigma. I don't recall if this was one of the instances when he changed the naval Enigma codes but when he did, advantage swung back in favor of the U-boats until the allies could crack whatever had been done with the ciphers.
