It's a twirl that now has some heads spinning.
Just moments after seventh-ranked Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard crushed her opponent in 54 minutes to advance to the third round of the Australian Open on Wednesday, Australian commentator, Ian Cohen, asked her to twirl to show off her hot-pink outfit.
The interviewers request has now sparked a flood of criticism and cries of sexism.
In a video of the incident, Bouchard can be seen on the tennis court following her easy defeat of Kiki Bertens in the second round of the competition.
Cohen then tells the 20-year-old: Now yesterday, or last night, you tweeted that you loved Serena [Williams] outfit. ... She was kind enough to give us a twirl. Can you give us a twirl and tell us about your outfit?

Not to be confused with an umbrella twirl.
I think I could be persuaded to start watching a little tennis!
She twirled, and, w-what’s the problem?
Outrage? OUTRAGE?
What is wrong with these people?
Halep bump.
Lets see now. Tennis star wears hot pink outfit. Wants attention. Wants to be seen and noticed for what she wears.
Someone (male) comments on is and so he’s a sexist pig.
Riiiigggghhht.
I clicked on the story about the chauvinist who wanted to see the pretty girl in order to see the pretty girl. Alas, there was no picture of a pretty girl, therefore this important story about chauvinism holds no interest for me.
All the Fem-Nazis are going to freak out now, “Oh oh a hetero showed his sexual preference! He must be terminated!”. Meanwhile the public is forced to watch homos shoving their tongues down each other throat at every opportunity.
Thank you.
I never get tired of that picture. There’s an interesting backstory here. But who cares about that.
At least he didn’t ask her to twerk!
Oh, for heaven’s sake. She chose to look cutesy, she was amused by the situation. Anybody who’s “outraged” is either faking it or insane.
Not guilty!
Oh, wait. Wrong thread (subject).
Quite honestly, she looks better in street clothes than anything skimpy.
sex·ism - Noun - Prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex.
If this is "sexism" we need a new definition. She's a cute gal. Very photogenic. That's all that is going on here. If not let's tell the photographers to leave their cameras at home. No more Red Carpet shots of tennis players.
That’s true. But he could also be a homo.
“Give us a twirl”?
That is kinda creepy, I admit.
Awesome!
Someone must be marketing outrage dietary supplements, and these folks are overdosing.
Folks, tennis is sports and sports is entertainment, not government bureaucracy. She wore the outfit to get attention. She got it, and she’s getting more of it. How could she complain?
As Limbaugh said, “The feminist movement was created to allow ugly women access to the mainstream of society.” Much of said ugliness is internal.
