Pro-Life Leaders Call for Ellmers’ Ouster
breitbart ^ | 1/23/15 | a ruse

Posted on 01/23/2015 5:50:07 AM PST by bestintxas

On a usually happy and even triumphant day, pro-life leaders found themselves angry at a vote in the U.S. House that never happened.

Much of the talk today at the annual March for Life, that likely brought close to 500,000 mostly young people to Washington DC, was about how House leaders canned a bill that would have banned abortion after the 20th week of gestation, the point at which an unborn child is said to feel pain.

Much of the anger was directed at Republican Congresswoman Renee Ellmers of North Carolina, who, as reported by Breitbart News, organized a group of female House members to block the vote on a bill that leadership had promised to pro-lifers.

There was talk backstage at the rally preceding the March for Life that Ellmers needs to be defeated in her next primary. There was also talk of open electoral “warfare” if the bill is not brought up for a vote — and soon.

Marjorie Danenfelser is president of the Susan B. Anthony List, a group that spent $13 million to elect pro-life legislators in the last cycle. When asked by Breitbart News if Ellmers would get a primary challenge, Danenfelser said, “That tidal wave has already begun. Before you came on the air, the same day that she began to discus ditching this bill to the main stream media, creating a firestorm on an issue that this was never about, that this was about rape. That’s going to happen and she deserves it.”

she’s one pebble on the beach.

primary campaign starts there on Feb 1. Then run a 3rd party candidate. Then when she’s gone, get somebody better.

We never promised you a rose garden ...

look at the bottom. Hanna R-NY needs to go. And what of the 5 GOP who were absent?

that is the roll call from 2 years ago.

6 GOP defected. 6 DEM supported.

It will come for a vote again, but the goal is to pass it ... not just to get a vote. Ask the major sponsors what the strategy is to get it to the floor with a majority.

Actually - Republicans did promise a rose garden.

Then gave us manure.

That smack, smack, smack you hear is the gauntlets being thrown down. Most interesting to have a pro-life group stating that there will be a vote in 2 weeks or else.

A word of cauttion, though. The gop wing of the uniparty is obviously trying to leave Ellmers holding the bag. And she of course is deserving of a primary challenge. After all, her sole qualification is that she was breathing when her predecessor got caught on camera assaulting someone who asked him a question. That said, she is one rep and not particularly high on the pecking order. The reason this bill never saw a vote is because the leadership and the caucus didn’t want it to. Not because Renee Ellmers has some particular voodoo that prevented it from being voted on.

“What do you do when not even voting reforms the system?”

You do some soul searching and realize that the only person who is responsible for your freedom and those you care about is you. So you work to increase liberty for you and yours notwithstanding what the politicians are up to.

“become a cynic and a defeatist and join the damned.”

Yeah, been there, done that. It gets tiresome. Better to work to increase your own freedom and those you care about notwithstanding what the politicians are doing.

Ellmers has got 55-59% in previous primaries. She is perfect candidate.

Club For Growth doesn’t like her either but maybe the anti-amnesty issues worried them.

County GOP chair Duncan, Greg Brannon or Frank Roche are possible candidates.

I don’t know if Roche should run. If you get a born and raised candidate we can paint Ellmers as a carpet bagger Michigan union thug even thought her husband is local.

Perfect candidate to target for a primary.

Cantor’s worst performance was 51% in 2002 and I think 60% in another year.

Cornyn, McConnell and others are classic examples. They got either side of 60% and were clear liberals who talked big. They didn’t really do anything as public as what Ellmers has done.

“They didn’t really do anything as public as what Ellmers has done.’

You gotta be kidding. This is just a couple of months ago.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2014/10/28/sen-john-cornyn-declares-support-for-dream-act/

I wanted Ted Cruz to run in the primary against Cornyn. Ted would have won in a landslide, and Gov Abbott would have appointed a good conservative to take Ted’s senate seat until a special election were held which would have been won by a candidate supported by Ted.

Armed rebellion is illegal.

Better to get elected and take over legally. :)

This is why I am not a republican rino like Renee or John, but a conservative Christian who will not vote for any person of the communist run democrats or communist run rino party, both parties which are unconstitutional and populated by the corrupt and evil politicians of America.
I am an Constitutional Conservative and hate both the left wing politicians and everyone allied with them, a.k.a., all rino politicians and call for the conservatives to vote each person for the MORAL VALUES THEY HOLD LEST THEY DESTROY American citizens God given rights and liberties completely.

Start a third party that will not vote for rino leftist politicians like the wicked witch of N.C. who say one thing and do another, like the obamanation of the left does.

Yep - next election will fix it.

They’ve told us that for twenty years because we still believe it.

That was after a primary and when the race was not in doubt. Ellmers did stupid things before a primary and is now giving her primary opponent her whole term to get ready to run.

If there is an “R” at the end of their name they more than likely can’t be trusted to do what they promise to do.
