Yemen’s been a puss-bucket of conflict for the last 50 years.

Why is US foreign policy always so stupid? Doesn’t matter which party is in the White House. They are especially clueless about the Middle East. Must be all those Yalies brainwashed in school.

***Country Could Split Apart***

Won’t be the first time! How many here remember NORTH YEMEN and SOUTH YEMEN from the 1960s.

Wasn’t Yemen once two countries; Yemen North and Yemen South...?

You are correct sir.

This may turn to another Syria/Iraq scenario where the Shia (Iran) and the Sunni (Saudi Arabia and others) tangle over their version of islam. It would be nice to have these two decimate each other then we would only have to deal with a war weary weakened victor. Unfortunately what is going on in Yemen and Syria/Iraq has economic and political global repercussions As such it is difficult to wait it out, hence we should influence the outcome to our favor; what ever that may be.

Regards.

Sounds like it is going to be the Eastern Front redux - heavy casualties will be good no matter which side they are on.

Yemen's U.S.-backed president quit Thursday under pressure from rebels holding him captive in his home

Gives one ideas.... ;)

I just heard the State Dept’s spokesmodel’s response to the question regarding Yemen.

Insane is the only word that can describe it.

She said they are seeking a smooth transition ?

WTF ????
