Landlord took former tenant to court for refusing to pay for damage to the marble floor of the bathroom he said was caused by stray drops from the tenants habit of relieving. . . .
It might seem standard practice for most men to take aim from a standing position, but some sections of German society have a bizarre obsession with obliging men to answer natures call while seated. It is not uncommon to find home-made signs in German bathrooms commanding men to adopt a seated position.

This judge is a REAL PISSER!
They have redesigned toilets available that splash horrifically if you aren’t seated.
And interestingly enough, they are even available here in the states.
Listed as “euro style”.

The article makes clear that “aim” is NOT the issue.
Rather it is the splash droplets causing the problem.
They’re known as sitzenpinklers and it is not a compliment.

Are there ‘Piss Police’ watching the Herren Raum?............
I can think of few things more emasculating to men than the attempt to deny them the “right” to stand up while peeing. And while it saddens me that this case would have ever gone before a court, I’m glad the judge showed some common sense.
Okay I have to ask because I’m not a marble expert. Does urine really harm marble that badly?
I've always blamed inaccuracy on sight radius.
Mrs. JohnnyP asked me to sit when peeing forty years ago. I think it’s a great idea.
Give up and just p1$$ in the sink.
The landlord could just say the tenant isn’t keeping the marble clean. I mean seriously if you cause splash damage just wipe it up or mop the floor once in a while.
I don’t know, but it seems to me that any surface that can be so easily ruined by stray drops and splashes is a lousy material to use in a bathroom.
The work of warmbruders? (:
Restroom (or Canadian Washroom) for men in Germany is not a Herrn Raum. Raum means room as in space. Zimmer is room, meaning a room in a building..
But in practice, what one usually sees on a restroom is WC, abbreviation for the English water closet. Pronounce it vay, tsay.
As a landlord I say that anyone that rents out a unit that can be damaged by some pee on the floor shouldn’t be in the rental business.
+1.

Standing in there at a stand-up urinal, I happened to notice a woman crossing over behind me to get to the stool enclosures. So I looked over to the door and discovered there were two doors, side by side, into the restroom.
Outside those doors, they were identified as for males and females.
True story.
Viva la France.
There used to be a rabid feminist that ran a site sit2pee.org
Feminazis responsible for this? are they jealous that they can’t pee standing up?
