Being interested in “foreigners” is a pretty unusual cultural trait, considered historically. Some say the Greeks invented it. Europeans developed it, becoming the only peoples on earth, probably, with significant numbers being willing to buy newspapers detailing the goings-on of foreigners. This became fashionable with the cachet of European power. Its going away now.
There are plenty of other American subcultures too, living in their own ghettos.

Why, they can report 24/7 on black on black crimes, the racist antics of blacks like Holder and Sharpton, and how many Knock Out Games went down.
Hell, even reporting on the black on black murders in Chicago would keep them hopping full time.
