Ted Cruz paints in bold colors
Examiner ^ | January 20, 2015 | Jesse Broadt

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) captivated his audience from minute one at the 2015 Tea Party Convention that was held this past weekend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. As he walked from the back of the auditorium to the podium, Cruz was not hurried, but rather stopped for everyone who wanted to shake his hand and offer support. He connected with his audience in a way that only a genuine individual could, and one of his opening statements from the stage was "God bless the great state of South Carolina." He also told us to leave our cell phones, saying: "I want Obama to hear every word of this."

Cruz said that he had just spent a week in DC and it was "great to be back in America." (Almost everybody got it.) The Texas senator said that on his way out he saw a maintenance worker walking down the hall with a screwdriver in his hand...going to change the sign on Harry Reid's door. Needless to say the audience loved it. In addition, it was nice for a speaker to acknowledge our impressive win in November without following behind with predictions of gloom and doom, sniveling about Boehner, or bringing up any other negative subjects that many conservatives chose to focus on after winning midterms by a landslide.

However, Cruz did acknowledge that we have things to fix and that America has come to a fork in the road. He said "now that we are the majority, it is imperative to stand for our principles and stay far away from what he described as the "mushy middle."

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

” Using colors as a comparison, he said “Republicans win when we paint in bold colors, not pastels.” I don’t think anyone could argue that Cruz is not a pastel guy. He states what he believes and he stands for what he believes. He reminded Americans that the answer to our problems cannot come from the government, but must come from the people.”

“Cruz will likely have an easy win this fall in the all-important Palmetto State and whether individuals agree with him on every single point or not is irrelevant: Ted Cruz knows how to lead and is not afraid to identify and fight the enemy. This is what America must have if she is to survive the war against freedom and liberty that is being waged by foreign enemies, as well as those who reside in the United States.”

it is imperative to stand for our principles and stay far away from what he described as the “mushy middle.”

The “mushy middle” does not LEAD.

Obama is pro-choice, that is he thinks there can be
some alternative to bringing freedom and individual
rights to the rest of the world.

Really, there is no choice but for us to spread
our form of governance unless we are willing
to accept being governed by others. Tet68.

” The “mushy middle” does not LEAD.”

What has the GOP done for the past 6 years, but HIDE from the American people?

Obama spends, Republicans either hide or spend along with him.

Obama destroys the middle class, and Republicans hide.

I can’t disagree with you on this, it’s a disaster
that we couldn’t bring in a new speaker.

I used to consider myself a Republican, now I am a
TEA PARTY CONSERVATIVE. If we don’t STEP UP at this
next election, we better be prepared to KNEEL and
accept our fate, for fate will not be kind to us.

I don’t know if Ted Cruz will ever become POTUS, but I can imagine him being named to the Supreme Court.

By all descriptions, he is a legal genius, and he could likely turn the court strongly conservative. The senate is such a contrived and scurrilous place that his brilliance is almost wasted there.

As for me, his Leadership skills and his fidelity to conservative principle are on par, or greater than his intelligence.

The POTUS chair demands all three, and out of all the potential POTUS contenders, he is the only one with acceptable levels of all three.

An important thing to consider is that Perry’s been nearly silent over the last couple of months. His advisor, Steve Schmidt, destroyer of conservatives since at least 2006, is Perry’s campaign advisor.

If Perry decides not to run, and Rand Paul can’t get KY law changed so he can be printed twice on one ballot, the field narrows drastically.

The Kochs have invited Cruz, Paul, Walker and someone else to CA to further feel them out.

I'm sure that Rand and Walker, in that order, would be their first choices as they are both outright weak on the Amnesty issue, however, Senator Cruz is not going to walk away from this fight, so they may hedge their bet and go with Ted if they come, rightly so, to the conclusion that Ted can win this thing.
