“Weird Al” Yankovic Announces Mandatory World Tour
StereoGum.com ^ | 20JAN2015 | Tom Breihan

Posted on 01/20/2015 9:41:26 PM PST by Jack Hydrazine

“Weird Al” Yankovic does not spend a whole lot of time on the road, possibly because it’s really, really difficult and expensive to stage like 20 different music-video parodies per show. But after the success of last year’s album Mandatory Fun, Yankovic has announced plans to hit the road heavily this summer, hitting practically every town in the U.S. and Canada from May to September, and then heading to Europe in September and October.

He’ll stop at a few festivals, but he’s mostly playing bigger venues (including a surprising number of casinos) on his own. This man has decades’ worth of goofy novelty hits, and he is absolutely committed to entertaining you at all times, so you could probably think of worse things to do with your night. Below, check out the dates for his Mandatory World Tour.

Motley Crue / Alice Cooper were excellent in concert.
Wow was Alice Cooper remarkably entertaining. Loved it!
Weird Al would probably be funny in a campy sort of way.

He is a showman.

I saw the *same tour* 3 times in 18 months and it was different every time.

That is a grueling schedule!

It looks brutal. I hope it's not a drop-dead schedule.

I realized I was getting old when I no longer recognized the songs Weird Al was parodying.

One of the best shows I’ve ever been to, on his last tour.

One of the best parts of the show is when he plays his old AL TV clips, like his “interview” with Eminem, it’s hilarious.

Do you know what’s great about Weird Al? He never talks politics. He could be the biggest stark raving nuts liberal and you’ll never know it. You go to see him for the performance and you’re never disappointed.

Weird Al, Chuck Liddell, John Madden, Bert Rutan, Ozzie Smith, Mike Krukow, and Sivad (me) have one thing in
common....We all attended Cal Poly.
Unfortunately, the
rest of them have or had a marketable talent unlike me.

There was an article awhile back about Alice Cooper and his Christianity.
Ah, here it is.

Alice Cooper is also a superb golfer and prolific collector of high-quality automatic mechanical wristwatches.
