Four death row inmates who are suing Ohio officials over a new state law that shields the names of companies providing lethal injection drugs want a federal court to prevent the law from taking effect in March.

Attorneys for the inmates filed the motion Monday in U.S. District Court in Columbus. They want the court to stop the provisions that they say violate the right of free speech from taking effect, pending a trial on the lawsuit. […]

Supporters of the new law have said that shielding the names of companies that provide lethal injection drugs is necessary to protect drugmakers from harassment and ensure the state gets supplies of the drugs.

But (attorney Timothy) Sweeney said in a telephone interview Monday that “there is no evidence whatsoever of harassment. What the state views as harassment is speech. Lawful speech is never harassment.” …

Go to a vet clinic and use that stuff. Good enough for pets, good enough for killers.

Rope. It is inexpensive, reusable many times and effective.

About $1 each. How about going with a little flair? A 750 gr 50 BMG at 4000 FPS center of mass. Boom! Red mist. Start cleaning up.

The nitrogen asphyxiation is less dramatic. Painless. No mess. Unconscious in about 15 seconds without a clue. Brain death from lack of oxygen in about 5 minutes. No toxic chemicals. Boring. Effective. Not much room to bitch or litigate...which is why it will never be selected.

Go back to firing squads.
Ammo companies will not mind being named
Gun manufactors will not mind being maned
I will volunteeer and will not mind being named.
Problem solved.

Utah used 30-30s with 150 gr Win Silvertips from 20 feet for Gary Gilmore.

There’s movement on the hill to reinstate the firing squad here in Utah as a secondary measure to avoid the BS this article points out. That is how the law stands in Oklahoma. If they can’t get the chemicals, they’ll shoot you.

How about Federal, Remington, Winchester or Hornady?

They work well, are a lot cheaper and don’t give a damn if you know their names.
