ESSEX JCT., Vt. Gun rights activists are firing back at gun control lobbyists who are pushing for a universal background check bill.
For me, this bill attempts to stop me from doing something i would never do anyway, said Chris Bradley, president of the Vermont Federation of Sportsmens Clubs.
While no actual bill has been introduced yet, there's talk in Montpelier about legislation that would require criminal background checks for every gun sale in the state, closing a so-called gun show loop hole.

WOW! "so-called" gun show loophole. I think there's a pro-gun mole in the reporting staff over there!
Vermont may be extremely liberal, but they are also almost all gun lovers. They used to have the most liberal gun laws in the country, and I think they still do.
Vermont and New Hampshire are two of the best states for gun ownership. Vermont requires no permit for open or concealed. New Hampshire only requires a permit for concealed of which it’s very easy to get and only costs $10. Of course you can’t travel anywhere else in New England without paying hundreds of dollars in permit taxes, that’s if they will even give you a permit.

I understand that Vermont doesn’t have “liberal” or any other kind of gun laws. If my info is correct, they have ZERO gun laws.
