A leading Republican presidential contender has warned against electing another Bush or Clinton to the White House, saying that installing an aristocratic ruling class in the United States could all but destroy the country.
Mike Huckabee, a Baptist minister and quick-witted populist Republican who has powerful appeal among religious conservative activists, suggested that those who live within the enclaves of the educational and cultural establishment and elites could not understand the lives of ordinary Americans.
While not referring directly to his potential presidential election competitors, his words resonate because Jeb Bush, the son and brother of former Republican presidents, and Hillary Clinton, the wife of a former Democratic president, are viewed as their parties top prospects.
The dynastic strand within American politics has been underscored with the likely entry into the Republican stakes of Mitt Romney, the defeated 2012 nominee who is a multi-millionaire and the son of a former Michigan governor and one-time presidential candidate.
By contrast, Huckabee, 59, traces his lineage to Liverpudlian rogues who emigrated to the US after being refused entry to Ireland. His father was a fireman who didnt finish secondary school and his mother a gas company clerk.
I dont begrudge anybody who was fortunate enough to be born into wealth or prestige, Huckabee told The Sunday Times in an interview. Its not their fault any more than it was my fault that I was born into poverty.(continued)

No sarcasm. Live Huckabee. Could like Cruz if it wasn’t for his hateful supporters.
I see you believe in “recycling” too, because that’s the exact same thing you people said about Sarah Palin.
RCP once again demonstrates that it is hopelessly behind the times when it comes to understanding conservatives.
He's RINO establishment to his core.
The GOPe LOVES the Huckster.
He draws 3% away from real conservatives who deserve broad support.
That helps BushChristieMittster.
Huckabee has 0 (Zero, Nada) chance of winning the nomination, much less the Presidency. His only effect will be to dilute Conservatism in favor of the GOPe.
...has warned against electing another Bush or Clinton to the White House, saying that installing an aristocratic "ruling class" in the United States could all but destroy the country.Well, he's not wrong (or electable, or conservative), but seriously, does he think Zero has been better than Hitlery would have been? Thanks 2ndDivisionVet.
“Heres the problem with that: I WOULD say it to his face.”
Then that makes you either a liar or a fool. Too bad, you are generally one of the more consistently sensible posters here on FR. You always seem to lose your sensibility when you post about Governor Huckabee.
Gentleman - and all others - you will LOSE moral/social conservatives when you recklessly insult a true moral/social conservative like Mike Huckabee (he is genuine whether you accept that truth or not). I suggest you sing the praises of the person or persons you like, and why, instead of hurling baseless calumnies against Mr. Huckabee. Calling him the “huckster” or accusing him of “class warfare” is not going to convince those dedicated to moral/social conservatism FIRST before other considerations. It is just going to make those people you do endorse and anathema to us.
So the four dead police officers and the La Raza thing mean nothing to you?
I will grant, however, that Huck's version is far less dangerous since it will only kill the country at a slower pace.
Gomer goes to Washington - shazam!
So Huck comes riding in to save the GOPe from those darn conservatives. I bet he gets jsut enough votes to push MittJebChristy right into the nomination.
I also think he is moral and decent man who generally means well, but is either seriously lacking in his understanding of the role of government or thinks his vision of morality is what needs to be imposed without regard for the law and the constitutional system of checks and balances. That makes him dangerously unqualified.
I also observe that his major role in the 2008 campaign was to ensure McCain was the nominee and, by extension, that Romney was the nominee in 2012. Neither worked out very well for social conservatives.
Libtards equate disagreement with their agenda as hate. Don't fall in the same trap.
I don’t particularly care who they are, because as soon as you get into government in the US, you and your family become the new “ruling class.”
I just want a decent candidate who wants to take back the US by stopping our sucking up to Islam, and stop attacking our defenders, permitting legal mass immigration from Muslim countries, stripping our productive citizens of every dime they earn in order to hand it off to the criminal class, and crushing anybody who defends our traditional (both religious and constitutional) values.
You don’t think very highly of the Huckster?
By the way 1760 yards = 1 mile.
