Michael Moore took a Twitter potshot at the acclaim being heaped on Clint Eastwood's film "American Sniper," tweeting that snipers are cowards not heroes, The Daily Mail reported.
"American Sniper," starring Bradley Cooper, is based on the true story of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, a special forces sharpshooter who was credited with 160 confirmed kills — reportedly the most in U.S. military history.

Kyle believed he actually took down 255 enemy combatants.
Moore, a left-wing populist filmmaker, tweeted to his 1.79 million followers: "My uncle killed by sniper in WW2. We were taught snipers were cowards. Will shoot u in the back. Snipers aren't heroes. And invaders r worse."
Eastwood's movie has won both popular and critical acclaim, being nominated for six Oscars.
The liberal New York Times gave the film a generally sympathetic review, placing it in the context of "Eastwood's commitment to the themes of vengeance and justice in a fallen world."
Moore made millions on his own films, including Fahrenheit 9/11 which portrayed the George W. Bush administration as having manipulated the aftermath of the 9/11 Islamist attacks on the U.S. to further its greed-driven agenda for wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Moore’s uncle may have served but it is clear that Moore never wore a uniform or saw combat. War is not a gentlemanly chess game. The soldiers who served with Kyle were and remain deeply grateful for his skill and accomplishments. None of the enemy he killed would ever kill or maim another American. If Moore found himself in the midst of Islamists in a Muslim country, his view about the military and snipers would adjust quickly.
“Lawyers for Ventura have asked a federal court to continue his lawsuit against Chris Kyle…by substituting Kyle’s wife, Taya, as the defendant,” the Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

American Sniper kind of reminds me of the movie that's showing in the third act of Inglorious Basterds.
Funny how terrorists aren’t cowards by Moore. Is his notion of war, i.e. besides terrorism, a vision of infantry going to the slaughter against heavy artillery?
