Never doubt the resilience of the Seattle Seahawks.
Plagued by turnovers and outplayed much of Sunday by Green Bay, the Seahawks staged an improbable comeback and beat the Packers 28-22 in overtime. Russell Wilson, who struggled until the final minutes, hit Jermaine Kearse for a 35-yard touchdown 3:19 into the extra period on the only possession.
The Seahawks became the first defending champion to make the Super Bowl in 10 years, and will play the winner of the AFC title game between Indianapolis and New England. How they got there was stunning.
Of course, when you lose a game like that, there’s gonna be a lot of second guessing. And third guessing and fourth guessing too. Green Bay fans will have a long winter to think over all the things that went wrong.
In retrospect, the turnovers on the Seattle side were offset by their defensive stands which forced GB to score 3 points at a time. At the time, GB seemed to have it all well in hand for 55 minutes, lost it in the final four and a half minutes which included Seattle's successful onside kick, then came back to tie it, then lost the toss, and couldn't keep Seattle from scoring. It was the best finale to a playoff game that I've seen since, well, Eli's final rally to win the Super Bowl.

No sir, I'm lukewarm on it typically but last night was exciting and amazing. OTOH The Pats/Colts game was interesting until about the 2nd quarter.
Given the stakes and the amount of pressure to perform, the Seahawks/Packers game will go down as one of the best playoff games in recent history.
If you were going to throw a game, this is how you would do it. After the horrible running “drive” that went backwards, then the NON HIT on the guy who barely stepped out of bounds...look at that play again, two defensive people just let him go in for a touchdown (that didn’t count) ...and then the offside kick fumble? And all in 3 minutes? Looked more than just an accident to me, didn’t look like bad football, looked like planned football. (And I could care less, I’m a Broncos fan).
Well, I've never watched bass fishing on TV, but it sounds like a cliff hanger in comparison to NFL football.
Baseball, on the other hand, is God's sport. It doesn't get any better than baseball.

I didn't lose that sentiment until their roster became populated with players either on parolee lists or struggling in off hours or off seasons to require parole. It's hard for me to make an emotional connection when too many of the players are reprobates on their good days.
I stopped watching NFL football about 15 years ago. What really shocked me was how easy it was AND how much free time I suddenly had to do fun things for that five or six months every year. The fact that a three to three and a half hour game can condense to about nine minutes of actual playing time helps with the disconnect.
There is still the news that has way too many stories of supposed adult players acting like children, but I guess I really don't pay that much attention these days. It just no longer matters.
Baseball, on the other hand, is one of the few things I ever understood enough to coach it. The only thing I don't know well enough about it is pitching. It's still just a personal preference, because pro baseball teams have their share of overgrown children on them. Nevertheless, it's pretty good yuks at work to get into arguments when I tell the many avid football fans that if they want to watch a real sport with real athletes, they need to wait 'til Spring training. That's like being a Republican in Minneapolis.

I root for the Broncs also. My wife is from Wisconsin. And, I was a Pack fan back when Bart Starr was QB back in the 1960s winning the first two Super Bowls. Alabama QB’s won like four of the first five or six Super Bowls. Starr, Joe Willie & the Jets, and Snake Stabler for the Raiders.
The Packers completely choked this game away!
