Latest Charlie Hebdo cover continues to roil Muslim world

The famed French weekly Charlie Hebdo has continued to draw a somewhat contradictory reaction across the Muslim world.

Many Muslims have expressed disgust at the deadly assault on the magazine’s Paris office by Islamic extremists who killed 12 people. However, many also remain deeply offended by the magazine’s record of publishing cartoons lampooning the Prophet Muhammad. Those passions were further inflamed this week when the magazine’s first issue following the attack carried a cover cartoon depicting Muhammad holding a “Je Suis Charlie” sign.

According to mainstream Islamic tradition, any physical depiction of the Prophet Muhammad—even a respectful one—is considered blasphemous.

In the West African nation of Niger, President Mahamadou Issoufou said at least 10 people have been killed after violent protests broke out against the latest cartoon depicting Muhammad in the French publication. …

Some of those Charlie Hebdo cartoons are quite vile across the board—not just to muzzies only.

“Many Muslims have expressed disgust at the deadly assault on the magazine’s Paris office...”

Name one! Not “many” — name names.

Islam made that up as an excuse to do what they’re doing.

Mohammed is not the problem. He's dead. The reason they ban his picture is because he forbid his image to be placed in temples because he didn't want to be worshipped, nor his image.

It's a game. They have reason and justification for forbidding the image, and we are given it to use to tease them.

The politicians use the game to enact laws that then 'silence' us.

What they should be doing is having pictures of groups like Boko Haram raping and killing young females on the cover of their magazine.

How many people across the globe were killed as a result of the New York Times publishing 70+ front page stories in 45 days about Abu Garaib?

If they had a clue how stupid they seem to the rest of the world, they might get over it.

They seem stupid to us. But the do have a very valid reason.

Mohammed was trying to deal with getting rid of the pagan/multi-theistic religions and form one monotheistic religion. During this, his 'congregation' created artworks of various kinds depicting his image, and that of Allah.

He had these destroyed and forbid these 'images' because he didn't want them worshipping 'false idols' (so to speak).

Variations of this theme are contained in many of the world's religion, including Christianity.

This 'difference' in what we allow is one of the most 'immaterial' differences between their religion/practices and Western religion, and yet is being tossed to us as a toy to use.

The real problem is not that they forbid Mohammed's image, it's that they are killing all competitive religions, literally.

That needs to be what we protest about. That we don't makes us seem stupid to them.

“According to mainstream Islamic tradition, any physical depiction of the Prophet Muhammad—even a respectful one—is considered blasphemous.”

Looks like the Associated Depressed has inadvertently trapped itself.

They and all the Lame Stream Media are constantly reminding that the people that killed the Charlie cartoonists were not real muslims.

But in this article they clearly admit that drawing an image of the “child molester” is blasphemy according to main stream islam.

And the koran and the hadith also clearly states that blasphemy is punishable by death.

Thus what happened in Paris is very much in accordance with main stream islam, not just fanatical islam.

And the reaction of the majority of muslims around the world to the carnage in Paris confirms this.

I also like this, which was drawn by Robert Crumb after the attack =>

Kudos to Crumb for having the nerve to draw it, and to Reason for having the nerve to show it.

“And these are the folks obama is twisting himself in knots to defend..”

What’s really absurd is that Obama and his ilk think the Tea Partiers are just “this” close to doing the same thing....

Good point.

The mass protests in Muslim countries show there were a few hundred million Muslims that agree with the mass murder of the cartoonists.

Just keep publishing it and drop them in leaflets over Mecca. Eventually they’ll stop complaining.

We should be using Christianity as a weapon of war. If people reject allah the moon god for the real God, they’ll be able to be civilized and stop the madness.

Islamism is really a signature mark for mental problems.

Here’s my main question in all this:

Look at the countries where Muslims are in the overwhelming majority of the population and tell me exactly which one is “true Islam.” Any?

Will at lease ONE member of the MSM ask that question, ever?

Crumb has still got the talent!

To this day I can't figure out his politics.

I thought he was a liberal, but he's drawn a lot of comix that enraged racialists and feminists.

When asked about it, he just sneers, "Seems like the people that bitch the most are white liberals".

He seems like a cartoonist George Carlin.

He hates (and mocks) everybody.

And doesn't care WHAT anyone thinks.

It’s not enough for publications to just rattle off, “Je suis Charlie Hebdou”: You have to PRINT the Mohammed caricature.

I'd rather not give any more publicity to this vile left-wing gay atheist rag.
