If you were upset about tensions between community members and police officers across racial lines, what would be the first avenue to address these issues that came to mind? Obviously you would unload a bunch of heavy barrels, chain yourself to them and block traffic on the interstate.
Protesters who said they were trying to call attention to racial oppression blocked traffic on Interstate 93 north and south of Boston Thursday morning. The actions surprised police, snarled the commute for thousands, and forced the diversion of an ambulance rushing a car crash victim to a Boston hospital, State Police said.
The protests on the major highway artery into the city were reported at 7:40 a.m. on I-93 South at Mystic Avenue in Medford and at 7:30 a.m. at I-93 North at East Milton Square, Colonel Timothy Alben, head of the State Police, said at a news conference.
The protesters in Medford were reportedly removed by shortly after 8 a.m., State Police said, but the protesters in Milton, who had attached themselves to heavy barrels, werent removed until about 9:45 a.m.
The Milton protesters didnt belong to any particular organized group, but were united in their belief that race relations need to be improved, said protest spokeswoman Shannon Leary.
You simply must see the one minute video of this protest spokeswoman explaining why this is the perfect way to make your opinions known. (Sadly its not available for embed.) I was going to attempt a transcript of it for you here, but my fingers refused to type those words in that particular order. She is reminiscent of the now infamous beauty pageant contestant who tried to explain the need for more education because most people couldnt find Iraq on a map. The video of the interview with the protester is here.
As if just shutting down the interstate for no discernible reason wasnt bad enough, they had to pick a morning when there was a serious automobile accident and an ambulance trying to get a victim to a level 1 trauma unit nearby. The State Police took to their Twitter account in frustration with the insanity of it all.

Ambulance had to be diverted to a smaller hospital in SE Mass rather than level 1 Boston trauma hospital. Victim had been in Easton crash.

Numerous other ambulances had to be on-scene while we cut protesters out of restraints. Meaning they were not available if needed elsewhere

I suppose if I had to find something positive to say about it, this is at least marginally better than burning the city down. But the criminal stupidity of these idiots is just staggering. (And before you begin wagging your race cards at me, the idiots in question who showed up in the news coverage were all white, okay?) Shutting down the interstate is not free speech. Its criminal activity. Period.
Weve heard all sort of complaints about how the United States incarcerates far too many people. In the case of Boston, it looks like were not incarcerating nearly enough.
Cause THEM to need an ambulance... or a hurst.
Then hammer on the accelerator!
I AM SICK OF THESE RACIST DEGENERATES GETTING PEOPLE KILLED DAMN IT!
Time to mow down the ‘justice warriors’ and Al Viagra Sharpton, grind them under and watch the goop spray out the back! yee ha
They all need to be arrested. That or shot.
Its time for lawsuits against the organizers and spokespersons
It’s time for lawsuits against every damn one of them. Make them pay for being idiots.
Any kind of vomit inducing material that can be smeared onto the protesters without causing physical harm might be a good way to make them uncomfortable.

If I were taking a family member to the hospital, they might hear gunfire. That usually helps disperse a crowd.
I would have hotten a loader and truck and simply picked up the barrels and protesters and driven them to e works ghetto area Incoild find and unloaded them on a street their.
I also read theire supposed press release. They aparently beleive only poor black people live in Boston. I’m not sure they have even been to Boston or seen the cost of rent within th city. Idiots.
“The Milton protesters didnt belong to any particular organized group...”
Oh, Bullsh#t!
Spell check is your FRiend.

A 9’s better ... but an 8’ll do.
Or at the least conspiracy for attempted manslaughter, or similar charge. I'm not a lawyer, but justice screams out in this case for charging each of the participants individually.
This case must set a precedent for not allowing stupidity or mental deficiency as a legal mitigation measure at trial. Or must random innocent victims die to clarify the stupidity of it all?
simple to fix: new state laws specifying mandatory minimum state prison sentence without parole for first time offenders convicted of deliberately obstructing commerce, with police forces being REQUIRED to IMMEDIATELY arrest any and all attempting such obstruction.
Meanwhile nobody cares about all the black lives being snuffed out in Nigeria.
Apparently, from a Facebook post on a friend’s feed, there is another event staged for Chicago tomorrow. With the murder rate there, it could get interesting.
Actually, I forwarded the Facebook post to the Chicago PD. Digging a bit deeper, it sounds like the Catholic church started with the idea of peaceful demonstrations for all human life, and the Red core has other plans in places.
Funny, if they were blocking access to an abortion clinic...
On a weekend, when there is reduced work commute traffic.
Of course emergency equipment can be delayed and cause deaths on weekends, too.
Throw the book at them, and hire engineers to devise a way to remove them en masse within a few minutes, minor injuries be damned.
