Supreme Court to Decide Whether Constitution Protects Same-Sex Marriage
WSJ ^ | January 16, 2015 | By JESS BRAVIN

Decision Later This Year Could Extend Gay Marriage to All 50 States or Cloud Existing Unions

WASHINGTON—The Supreme Court on Friday said it would decide whether the U.S. Constitution gives same-sex couples the right to marry, signaling what could be the final chapter of a push by advocates to extend gay unions nationwide.

The court accepted challenges to same-sex marriage bans in four states—Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee—that a federal appeals court upheld in November 2014. The ruling by the Sixth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati departed from recent decisions by other appeals courts that found same-sex couples enjoyed a right to marry under the 14th Amendment’s equal-protection and due-process provisions.

The justices are taking up the issue in the middle of the court’s current term after having earlier rejected pleas by states to reinstate marriage restrictions that appellate courts had found unconstitutional. The Sixth Circuit ruling, the first to uphold the restriction of marriage to heterosexuals, created a split among the court circuits that didn’t exist in October, making it more likely the Supreme Court could get involved.

The court agreed to hear two specific constitutional questions on same-sex marriage laws and will hear extended arguments.

They spent millions upon millions and got their votes out.
They lost so now they go to judges to rip away piece by piece what the states constitution is

Once they have 5 of 9 justices in place that are lawless and evil then no other part of government or its citizens have any say over the law of the land. Just 5 well placed lawless socialists rule it all.

A judge in my state, of course the south east part called Miami ruled the entire state should accept it now.

Well screw him, they put million in and got their votes out and the people of my state said no.
They lost and yet they go looking for a judge to overturn the states constitution.

I am still reeling from that because it’s utter B/S.

They frigging lost but instead of accepting it and going to places like MA to have their sham they are still trying to force it on to others who have spoken.

Yes I am still angry over it because anyone with half a brain would understand that their agenda does not stop there. Next it’s schools, churches, freedom of religion.

They said they wanted to be left alone and they got that.
They then wanted civil unions and they got that.
The then said they had to have marriage and it’s forced onto many .
Then the schools, etc will be next and then getting jailed for refusing a wedding service to them.

It is sad that there are still people out there who cannot see what their agenda really is and will have no problem of this sham of a marriage.

the schools and the Churches...are their highway to curtailing Freedom of “religion”. as they despise being defined as SINNERS.

Just waiting for anyone to show me where in the constitution it states marriage is a constitutional right.

Funny...

I've been posting the Preamble for a long time on the NBC threads, and it may apply here, too.

The Preamble says that the Constitution was ordained and established to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity . If you're gay, how can you have "posterity" without extraordinary measures? A traditional marriage is at the center of a family that produces children, whose Liberty the Constitution was ordained and established to secure?

There is no ‘right’ to marry for anyone. It is a contract between 2 people.

If you cannot find someone to marry you, you can’t go to court to exercise your right and have the state appoint you a marriage partner against their wishes.

So, it’s not a right for anyone in my mind.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A “GAY-MARRIAGE BAN!” ALL STATES HAVE DONE IS DEFINED AND UPHELD MARRIAGE AS A UNION BETWEEN ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN!

This is great news. All lawyers know that there is no constitutional basis for perverted sex in a legally sanctioned “marriage” with adopted children watching. No where is there a hint in the constitution of any regulation over a state of the basic form of the constituent family. The Court will rule that States control the definition and these queers can crawl back under their moldy rocks. They need mental health aid. Pray for them.

The Constitution DOES NOT “PROTECT” homosexual marriage.

It doesn't prohibit homosexual marriage, either. In fact, it makes no reference to marriage at all. So, there is no basis for the Supreme Court to rule one way or the other on this issue.

Actually, this issue has been decided by the Creator.

SCOTUS is going to be tested as to whether it will acknowledge or deny the truth.

Many judges today have tore up the constitution and have their own agendas plus many today go to be a judge just to push the left wing agenda.

(Romans 1:24)

Therefore God gave them over...

One of the most sobering things written in Scripture. It is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, that short phrase should burn on the conscious of any nation that dares to tread upon the Lord's commands. One that ignores His directives for His created order and chooses to celebrate rebellious perversity instead.
