Obama vows to ‘play offense’ against GOP-led Congress

President Obama told Senate Democrats in a private meeting that he plans to "play offense" against the new GOP-controlled Congress, showing little hesitation about clashing with Republicans for the next two years.

Congressional sources confirmed the comments, made Thursday during a summit in Baltimore, as Republican lawmakers held their own summit in Hershey, Pa.

The president, who already has issued a string of veto threats in the opening days of the 114th Congress, indicated he's prepared to keep opposing legislation he finds objectionable.

This includes legislation with bipartisan support. Not only has Obama threatened to veto bipartisan legislation authorizing the Keystone XL oil pipeline, he reportedly threatened to veto legislation imposing additional Iran sanctions.

Obama doesn't work with people; People work with him or they get crushed.

That's how he sees it.

Actually, the GOP only knows how to play defense, which, in the political world, is always the losing side. But, at least they know they’ll be doing what it is they do best!

The brave little David goes out to face the mighty Goliath.

What could possibly be wrong with this picture?

The Republicans do not have to allow this. Until the GOP grows a pair and starts passing resolutions demanding the resignation of the Kenyan Usurper, I will not take them seriously. As conservatives, we need to make that our #1 priority.

The GOP must simply refuse to pass anything, fund anything or confirm any appointments until OZero has left the White House. The effort might fail. But they need to try. If they don’t even TRY to force a resignation, then I see no reason to vote for the Republicans in 2016.

I’m glad Obama said this.

Now flail the Repubs who try to play nicey nice with the enemy, with it, incessantly. You know, those “we need to work together to get something done” weaklings...

Hit them with this from O.

Don’t ever stop.

“then I see no reason to vote for the Republicans in 2016.”

So, you’re ok with 4 - 8 years of Her Thighness?

Senate Democrats: “In that case, you’re the only guy on the team. Have a good game!”

Yes, he is a tyrant. And republicans should be calling him out on that on a regular basis. And democrats should do the same thing. Why? Because there was an anti-obama theme in the 2014 elections and there will be another anti-obama theme in 2016 especially if he keeps this up. There will be democrat causualities in ‘16.

Constitutional scholars are requested to reply.

Does the US Consitution provide for SCOTUS review of the “implementation decisions” of the Executive Branch?

I understand that the SCOTUS is tasked, according to the Constitution to determine whether Congress’ actions/legislation align with the Constitution.

Wherein do we find the requirement for the SCOTUS to make determinations regarding the implementation actions of the executive branch?

To wit, I would request citations where the SCOTUS can remand/reverse an executive branch decision to summarily disregard, in part or in whole, the legislative creations outside of the Veto Pen? I am specifically concerned with Obamugabe’s selective ignoring of legally passed immigration law.

From where I stand, SCOTUS can remand/reverse legislative actions but cannot make decisions on Executive Branch actions. Yes or no?

...and is this where Obamugabe rests his current actions?

Don’t you see, that’s the difference. David WAS a Jew, and had God on his side, tipping the balance against the mighty Goliath.

The Current Occupant, not believing in the God of the Jews and also now of the Christians, does not have that divine support.

This time, Goliath might win against the copycat “David” now pretending to be some kind of champion.

I will vote R no matter what; Clinton or someone else is not acceptable.

That said, Jeb makes me sick; and, GW Bush makes me sicker as he sits by saying NOTHING while in his elitist self, he could say a LOT, as the country is more important than his “presidential dignity”...his family wants Jeb so bad they’re willing to let the country vanish so that can happen...anyone else pissed by this family?

I find it interesting that the media never mentions how Clinton regained popularity by working with his Republican congress in areas such as Welfare Reform.

Obama knows that Boehner and McDonnell are short a set, which, by extension, means that the majority of Republicans are also geldings. That is why Republicans in Congress don’t find Boehner and McDonnell repulsive like most Americans do.
