Without giving too much away, Sen. Ted Cruz said Tuesday morning that hes giving his own presidential aspirations a close look in advance of 2016.
Its certainly something Im looking at very seriously, and I think were at a time of enormous challenge, Cruz told FOX & Friends. We are starting a national debate this year about the direction of the Republican party and about the direction of the country. I think the challenges facing us theyve never been greater. The Obama economy, its not working. Obamacare is a disaster. Our constitutional rights are under assault from Washington. And as we look abroad, it seems like the entire world is on fire right now.
Cruzs comments come a day after he delivered a well-received speech at the Heritage Foundation that explored both domestic and foreign policy issues. The Texas Republican pushed for a conservative agenda and cautioned against the business as usual politics of D.C. he has cautioned against frequently.
For all the Republicans saying lets get things done, if we simply settle into business as usual in this town we will demoralize the millions of men and women who came out in November, Cruz said.
A bevy of other Republicans have publicly or reportedly talked about their 2016 prospects in recent days, with Sen. Marco Rubio (undecided) and Rep. Paul Ryan (out) commenting, and speculation rising that former Republican nominee Mitt Romney will launch a third consecutive bid. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was the first potential contender to make an obvious move toward running.

I don’t get the above bickering. If your house (nation) is on fire, are you grateful for the fertilizer/seed spray truck that saw it and volunteered to put it out, or are you bitchy because the pedigreed Fire Engine (15 minutes away) didn’t get to put it out first?
Because of a couple of important policy differences, I don’t support him at this time. But, in my opinion, he is positioned better than anyone else to win. He will be formidable.
BTTT
Thanks for your comment. Now back to DU for you!!
“Peter Principle?” Are you high?!
Links?
Links are in post #35.
"Bickering?" What on earth are you talking about?
Palin or bust for me.
Sounds like a Cruz supporter masking as a Palin supporter to me.
I like Sarah Palin but Ted Cruz is much more articulate and probably wont have to run back as often to the microphone the next day for a retake explaining what he really meant in a statement he made the day before.
Well, I guess I will vote for him.
I would much rather vote for him for the President of Texas. We can wish, can’t we?
Bwhahahhahahahahha
ABOVE bickering, not you. You were the last comment when I replied.
And it’s not even a full moon! :)

(October 29, 2014) What did Sarah Palin mean by hinting at running for office?

Give me a break. I've been a member of this Forum since you were sucking a pacifier.
Thank you again for all the Cruz threads today and yesterday and always...... reason to have hope.
Oh, my mistake, txhurl...I apologize.
(Who needs a full moon)?
:P
3 things:
(1) If it wasn't for Palin's endorsement, Cruz would still be in Texas somewhere.
(2) Palin has a photographic memory, and can see events before they transpire. She is also a dynamic retail politician.
(3) Nobody outside of the conservative blogosphere knows who Cruz is. We all know who Palin is, she has been completely vetted and has nothing to hide.
If Palin is not running, I'm staying home.

Lets say Sally is a nurse in a hospital. She is looking to be CEO of that hospital. When she becomes a CEO, she gets to pick a charge-nurse to be in charge of all other nurses.
Now, would you call Sally’s choice to be the CEO as “quitting” too?
I don’t have nothing against Cruz or hate him. I just think he’s too good to be true and is shaky on immigration.
LOL, we like it LIVELY!
