Across New York City, policemen are being put on notice by higher ups, get back to business as usual, or no vacations, or sick days, according to reports.
And borough commanders want to see the proof. Throughout the city, precincts are being ordered to hand up to borough commanders activity sheets indicating the number of arrests and summonses per shift
Said one union source, according to the New York Post, Police officers around the city are now threatened with transfers, no vacation time and sick time unless they write summonses.

So its all about revenue after all
The NY cops are currently working without a contract. This is all about union contract negotiations.
More Quotas?
de Blasio is digging his hole deeper and deeper.
Well if they have to double and triple team, the low hanging fruit is going to need to be ignored. Protecting citizen’s safety will take priority over parking, and even some property crimes. That’s not income producing.
Surely there is some obscure law on the books like people can’t slurp their soup or walking backwards is against the law... It would be a riot if they had a no tolerance policy on those sort of laws... ticket everyone jaywalking.
So if you arrest feral urban animals, or worse yet defend yourself when one tries to kill you, you are a racist. But if you don’t, you get no vacation or sick leave.
See how that works out, NYC and the communist mayor you elected. /spit
YES!
I’m sure its similar in the States, but in Canada, generally after three consecutive days sick leave, a doctor’s note or certificate is required.
Oh, but it's worse than that. de Blasio wants to punish an employee for something other employees might or might not have done.
That's a non-starter right there. Now throw in a union contract, and any judge would rule against de Blasio in two seconds.
Defense attorneys should may hay out of this.
I think it should have always been 2 together at all times.
I think you might be on to something. NYPD officers should consult the list below. But - and this is critical - the cop must state at the time of the arrest: "You are arrested for this crime on the direct orders of Mayor William de Blasio."
Usually, until a new contract is signed, the agreements under the old one remains in place. And the awarding and use of vacation and sick days are dictated by Civil Service Law.
I am not a lawyer or a unionist, but I think I understand labor negotiations and labor law. I think in most if not all cases, vacations are EARNED time off. Outside of an emergency, can an employer withhold something that has been earned?
I wonder how this one little gem will hold up in court.
Well, in an honest court. after all this is New York.
Isn’t fewer arrests what Deblasshole wants?
How long do you suppose it will be before DeBlobbo et AL realize that LEADERS don’t get into pissing contests with rank and file?
Need to assign several officers to watch duh mayor like a hawk. Surely he does something that could get him arrested. Get the drug dogs to check him out!
Oh guess what mayor, you just bought yourself a felony drug conviction!
De Blasio wants to punish an employee.....
Typical control freak manager. One person allegedly breaks a rule (allegedly the operative word) and everyone gets punished. That is happening at my current workplace by a manager with the intelligence of a pet rock.
Where is the satire tag?
I buy packs of generic cigarettes at a retail store for 3.49 + 7% sales tax = 3.74 in my state.
($1.34 of that 3.49 price includes a FL State excise tax)
Open your eyes and glance at this link:
http://www.taxadmin.org/fta/rate/cigarette.pdf
So built in NY State tax and local excise tax(4.35 + 1.50) before local retail sales taxes apply in NYC, is $5.85 a pack.
How many legally purchased cartons, of a legal product in all fifty states, are allowed to be in my trunk legally, if I travel to NYC and the cops illegally search my car trunk during a traffic stop for an illegal lane change?
Absolutely...
