So basically make criminals out of citizen
And if the police don't comply, who will arrest them and send them to the gulag?
This show is becoming increasingly entertaining.
I’d like to be in the bar drinking beer and smoking cigars with them. Maybe even firing them up a little too.
Some cities do absolutely rely on the income from tickets and penalties. It’s quite an industry, a vast bureaucracy that exists for the sole purpose of making bigger profits, never less than before. Were this low tide of ticketing and arrests should continue, this would lead to layoff in the data processing and maintenance areas. Can’t have that.
The mayor only wants them to do the part of their jobs that brings in money
They are not paid to be murdered by the left. They will no longer go out by themselves. The union said they should be two at all times. They need backup since they have a target painted on their heads by Eric Holder, Al Sharpton, Bill DeBlasio, and Barack Obama.
A revenue generation department, on the other hand...
Go fight crime, just don’t hurt anyone’s feelings in the process.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
Maybe they didn’t see a crime happen. Prove they did. This will be shot down with a court injunction tomorrow afternoon. They will be able to take sick, and prob vacation too barring an emergency like the hurricane, or like New Years eve.
The contract has a detailed agreement on this,,,,signed.
A commander stamping his feet cannot change it.
That should be worth 100 points.
" "Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against - then you'll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We're after P O W E R and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you'd better get wise to it. There's no way to rule innocent men. The only P O W E R any government has is the P O W E R to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. (used browser back button to return) One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.* Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers - and then you cash in on guilt. Now, that's the system, Mr. Rearden, that's the game and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with." ~Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged"
You mean takers... not tators...right?
There may be crimes, but what is the point of writing summons for crimes which the mayor will excuse?
Exactly. And due caution means everything slows down. It the drunk pissing against the wall just what it seems? Or is he luring the cop into a murder ambush by the Africans?
Does the liberal public hate or love the police? They cannot have it both ways.
And nobody wants to told by one to dig a hole, and the next day to fill it, on and on.
Grab some popcorn and enjoy the show.
So until the cops return to fleecing the peasants no vacay.
Go fight crime, just dont hurt anyones feelings in the process. —
Lemonade stands?
Chalk on the sidewalk?
That’ll be a class action lawsuit for the ages.
So now we learn that cops are being ordered to shakedown citizens?
There really is a quota?
This isn’t so much about crime prevention as it is about “revenue”?
Seems to me that crime had suddenly dropped and now they are being encouraged, by way of penalty, to ferret out crimes?
What if they aren’t finding enough crimes?
What if the crimes don’t involve a significant revenue boost?
Will they be told what crimes to pursue as a matter of policy and priority?
Which crimes then don’t really matter and why were they enforcing them in the first place?
