I'm half-German and I don't agree. Germans are a highly politically correct people. They are extremely in-tune to mass social trends and behaviors, and like the Japanese, they are extremely averse to standing out in any socially unacceptable way. As such, if prevailing political, social, media trends continue "anti islamophobic," then the Germans will carry on, regardless of how reality hammers them on the head.
I'm a quarter German and I disagree slightly less.
You may be correct. I am going on impression of a 1930s Germany and a post war East Germany, thus the past tense of my statement.
