Mitt Romney Thinks Ted Cruz Will Destroy Jeb Bush’s Candidacy
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | January 10, 2015 | Dan Riehl

A tidbit buried at the end of a Romney adviser’s longish rationalization of why Mitt Romney may yet again run for the GOP’s nomination suggests Romney does not think Jeb Bush has what it takes to win the GOP nomination.

BuzzFeed reports:

According to one former adviser, the biggest political question Romney will be considering as he makes his decision is whether Bush will be able to make it to the general election.

“Look, Jeb’s a good guy. I think the governor likes Jeb,” the adviser said. “But Jeb is Common Core, Jeb is immigration, Jeb has been talking about raising taxes recently. Can you imagine Jeb trying to get through a Republican primary? Can you imagine what Ted Cruz is going to do to Jeb Bush? I mean, that’s going to be ugly.”(continued)

It is not if Ted will destroy Jeb, but why and how that is of interest.

The why: because Jeb is not a Constitutionalists and in fact he is a big nanny state government appeaser. Thus Jeb is not friend of the Constitution nor American liberty, his time in the executive office would be counter-productive for the vision of liberty and American excellence. The "how". I do not think Ted is devising a strategy or tactic, he will simply articulate a better vision for America and point out how the RINO's are preventing that vision from being implemented.

For Ted it is not about which party holds office, but about the state of the country the serve. The RINO herd is hoping that no articulate conservative is a threat to their lessor of two evils strategy.

If Cruz is able to destroy Jeb “It’s My Turn Now” Bush’s candidacy, he should be able to do the same to Mitt “I Didn’t Try Very Hard in 2012 but 2016 Will Be Different” Romney’s candidacy.

Common Core and open borders has pretty much destroyed any chance George W. Bush’s dumber brother ever had. Not as crippling as Romney’s homosexual activism and Romneycare, but bad enough that nominating him still automatically throws the election to the Democrats or a third party.

Call me slow, but I’m trying to figure out if your response was about the misspelling of “Mitt” as “Milt” or if it’s a slam against 2DV for another reason.

Not piling on, just curious.

“Why don’t you give it a rest and really find out who Mitt is. Guess it is too hard.”

I know exactly what he is....a Mormon cultist. That is all I need to know. I do not want a devout Mormon in the highest political office anymore that I want a devout Muslim to be there.

If this is bigotry, then I accept and own the title of religious bigot. I am not ashamed to be theologically conservative evangelical Christian. Although we are far from perfect, I believe we are the closest to the Biblical/Gospel standard....or I would belong to another group.

I want a conservative (theologically and doctrinally) evangelical Christian as POTUS (Jimmy Carter WAS NOT a theologically conservative evangelical Christian - NOT all “evangelicals” are equal). I want someone who will put a high value on the values I own (conservative evangelical Christian ones).

Right now Cruz and Huckabee (regardless of what the Huckabee haters here say) meet my standards of acceptance. Mr. Bush does not....Romney definitely does not. Donald Trump and “economic only conservatives” do not.

Give me someone who shares my beliefs (or at least is friendly towards them as Reagan was) or do not expect my vote. Not in a primary or even in a general election. I messed up holding my nose and voting for Romney in 2012...I won’t repeat that mistake again.

We know what he is-a liberal trying to pretend to be a conservative. Seems like you forgot he ran and lost. He would do the same again.

As I recall Mitt is the guy whose son said he didn't really want to be president after he lost, and from what I saw during the debates there is no arguing with that.

I don't buy this for one second. It sounds like college fans who don't get a recruit and suddenly proclaim 'we didn't really want him, anyway.' In other words, a total rationalization. Mitt Romney wasn't going to waste millions of dollars of his own wealth trying to lose.

Why do you suppose the Shill is pushing him then?

Answer: So that he runs and loses. Because thats what the GOP does. It’s the pressure relief valve for liberalism. It pretends to be the opposition while fully funding and voting for liberal leftist laws and programs.

And people that vote GOP ALSO do that. Because their vote is what empowers the GOP to do that.

So naturally, RINOBOY upthread wants a leftist repub empowered so the cycle can go on indefinitely.

That and to turn FR’s rep into one of being a ‘Moderate’ web forum of course. Evil purists and extremist must be stomped out. Mitch said so. Punched in the nose even.

Welcome to Cloward Piven.
