A phobia is an unfounded fear. Therefore there is no such thing as Islamophobia. Any fear of Islam is well founded.

exactly.
The NY Times had a quote: “We are told Islam is for God, for peace,” he said. “But when you see this other Islam, with the jihadists, I don’t see peace, I see hatred. So people can’t tell which is the real Islam.”
We should disbelieve what “we are told” when it directly contradicts reality we see.
