RUSH: Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Paul.
Great to have you, sir.
Thank you for waiting and hello.
CALLER: Yeah, great to speak with you, too, Rush.
Most Republicans agree that Boehner has to go.
He not only voted for the cromnibus that funded Obama's illegal activities until next October,
he also negotiated behind closed doors
and then threw it on the clerk's desk 48 hours before the vote
so nobody else had a chance to see what was in it.
So he's disgraced himself.
He's got to go.
The question is who should replace him.
And two men have stepped forward to contend for the jobLouie Gohmert of Texas
and Ted Yoho, from my state of Florida.
And I'd like to say that based on their voting records, Louie Gohmert is the best choice.
And the reason I say that isif you look at how the vote went in the last Speakership election, when there was an attempt to oust Boehner at that time, you'll recall,
and there were 21 members who signed on as being willing to vote for someone other than Boehner
and then a lot of insider pressure caused a lot of them to drop out.
But finally the vote took place and there were nine people out of the 21 who stood up for their principles,Louie Gohmert was one of them, and he voted for Allen West which was certainly a brave thing to do becauseBoehner had done a number on West, you'll recall,
by gerrymandering his district and not funding his reelection campaign.
More illuminating was who Ted Yoho voted for. He didn't vote for Boehner.
He was one of the nine that didn't vote for Boehner.
But he voted for Eric Cantor! Eric Cantorwho voted for TARP,
who supported amnesty,
who was minority whip under Boehner for two or three years, then became majority member.
He was an insider RINO ---
RUSH: Okay, I'm down to 30 seconds.
Do you think it's gonna happen?
CALLER: It's an historic opportunity.
I'll tell you, one other thing, yes, I think it's gonna happen, in short,
and another reason it's gonna happen isbecause Boehner lied to the entire House on H.R. 5759 when HE REWROTE IT and in the middle of the night --
RUSH: Yeah, but it depends on how afraid of him they remain.
I mean, the old saw aboutif you're gonna take the king out you better succeed,'cause if you don't, and he's still around,

Gohmert and Yoho may be the ones who can prevent Boehner from being Speaker for the next Congress but that doesn’t mean either will replace him. Having 29 votes between then is one thing. Having 218 to win is quite another. On the very slim chance that Gohmert and Yoho do manage to come up with 29 votes I expect Boehner will either work a deal or a new candidate will announce and be elected.

Let's all call and shut down the phone lines.
"Lets nail this one. Call 202-224-3121.
Talk to your Congressman.
Tell them to vote for Louie Gohmert.
More importantly, tell themthat if they vote for John Boehner, youre done with them.
202-224-3121.

The politics in Congress are such that Boehner has it locked. If people vote against him but he still wins, they could be punished. This includes reduction of staff, moving to the basement and loss of chairmanships. I would love to see him tossed out but I’m afraid it’s very unlikely.

Drudge Headline: New Congress (IMHO, same as the old congress...nothing ever, EVER changes.) Depressed...yeah...an understatement. Weary, worn out, demoralized, and depressed...again, nothing ever changes.

Took a little while on hold but I finally got through to my representative (congressman elect Will Hurd, TX) office regarding how he plans to vote today. Was told they didnt know. I said, Are you kidding me? Your office SERIOUSLY doesnt know how he plans to vote! And they said they seriously didnt know. Said theyd been getting a lot of calls. Told them that this was congressman Hurds first test and wed be watching.

ANYONE THAT VOTES "PRESENT" is trying to play you fort a dupe, and is GUTLESS.
If they vote"PRESENT" then they've got to be PRIMARY-ED and maybe even RECALLED !

On the radio this morning, Bill Handel did make a news item of this story, and he and his guys talked about the remarkable number of people against Boehner, but said he would of course win because that is always what happens.

Perhaps many are playing it close to the vest and will hold off until the actual vote. I read that there were only 130 announced Yes votes for Boehner.
My fantasy: Vote proceeds ( I believe it’s alphabetical order) and near the front, an unannounced vote goes Gohmert. Effect is like the first bird that flies off the wire.
I have a dream!

I agree ... if I were Gohmert-Cruz ... I’d have 15 announce publicly ... another 35 in the wings ...
