CRomnibus, you have to pass it to see what’s in it. Very Pelosi.

And what happened to Boehner’s promise of 72 hours to review bills?

It IS disgraceful that we don’t have, at the very least, 29 definitive nos.

They need to stop licking their chops over committee assignments and remember this....

SIX TIMES JOHN BOEHNER PROVED HIS INCOMPETENCE
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/01/05/six-times-john-boehner-proved-his-incompetence/

And....that they’re sent to that cesspool to represent us....not fleece us.

Writer Daniel Horowitz has been urging conservatives to give Rep. John Boehner the boot as Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. At Breitbart.com he says that “it would only require 29 House members to depose [Boehner].” The initial objective, he argues, is simply to deny Boehner a majority on the first ballot in order to force a subsequent vote. The balloting will continue until someone receives a majority. According to Horowitz, conservatives have enough power to ensure that the winner is someone other than Boehner.

The GOPe will not hesitate to make some underhanded deals with Democrats to buy their votes, if it comes to that….like they did in MS when they bought Black Democrat votes to elect Thad Cochran in the primary that he really lost. That’s why we are no longer Republicans in this house.

It does seem as if there will be not quite enough "no" votes. Just enough to enable Boehner to make a speech indicating that he "gets the message" and then stay in power.

Am I too cynical this morning??

“Roe (TN-1) posted to FB asking for input on what his district wanted as priority for 2015 Congress. 99% of replies were to replace Boehner.”

In your eye, Roe!

AND also with supposed conservative Republicans. I was watching CSPAN a little while ago when they were interviewing SUPPOSED conservative Ken Buck. Buck won't even be sworn into office until later this morning but he was already showing himself as a PROFILE IN COWARDICE. He stated that he was voting for Boehner because there were not enough votes to oust Boehner. Ken Buck's very body language presented him as a cowering cur. What a disappointment he is turning into before he even assumes office.

No. I don't think you're cynical. I think you are realistic.

This reminds me of the Clinton impeachment trail in the Senate. No matter how you counted the votes, you couldn't get enough.

I hope I'm wrong. I will celebrate being wrong.

Hopefully, many of the “undecideds” will wait for the actual vote, and will stampede against Boehner if the “nos” pass a threshold. Last time, the threshold wasn’t reached, so many who said they would vote no chickened out.

Boehner and his people are pretty ruthless, and are demanding that they promise to support him before the vote, “or else”. But this gambit might not work, because Boehner has proven that he does not keep *his* promises, so there is no reason for any of the others to keep theirs.

It *never* violates your “core values” to depose a bully.

No. She needs about 60 republican “present” votes. They dont have to vote for her. They just have to not vote for anyone.

I’ve updated the list of those who have publically stated that they are not voting for Boehner on the running total/tracking thread I started yesterday. This is as of earlier this a.m.

Yoho (FL) - will run for Speaker
Gohmert (TX) - will run for Speaker
Massie (KY)
Steve King (IA)
Gosar (AZ)
Brat (VA)
Bridenstine (OK)
Stutzman (IN)
Walter Jones (NC)
Palmer (Ala)(Freshman)
Clawson (FL)
Weber (TX)
Amash (MI)

Steve King said last night that Daniel Webster (FL) would be a great Speaker - sounded like King might nominate him.

Nope, they keep polling until someone gets a majority of the entire House. Since no one’s going to cross the aisle to vote for Pelosi, if there are 29 or more GOP votes agains Boehner, we could get Boehner on the first vote if enough ‘Rats vote for him on the first ballot, rather than Pelosi, or we could go to a second ballot after a lot of horse-trading.

I’m afraid most likely result of 29+ anti-Boehner votes on the first ballot is a bunch of concessions from Boehner to enough of antis to get them back in the fold followed by Boehner on the second ballot, or Boehner on the second ballot with ‘Rat support.

Yoho was on Fox and Friends a little while ago and said that while they have 13 who’ve publically stated now, they have been receiving a lot of phone calls from members saying they won’t vote for Boehner. Hope there are more than 16 that are not releasing public statements but will make their statement by supporting Gohmert on the House floor today. IIRC the vote starts at noon DC time.

I wouldn’t put it past the ‘rats to vote for Boner in order to thwart the conservatives.

After all, to them, it would be better for Boner to be there than someone the conservatives would vote for.

And, vice versa for the GOPe - better that a democRat win than a conservative.

What gets me is that the whole thing is so “Stalinesque” - the reps fear for their political lives for opposing the dictatorship.

I’ve been perusing the comments on a few GOP Reps’ Facebook pages. They are universally against Boehner and many make note of the consequences in the next primary if the Rep supports Boehner.

There is tremendous pressure to dump Boehner. On the other hand, Boehner will wreak terrible retribution on his opposition if he wins. Reps are frozen like deer in the headlights. We need to startle them to jump in the right direction. Keep pouring on the pressure.

130 liberals vs 29 conservatives. No wonder.

I thought the R's got the majority? Lol.

ArE there not there 29 conservatives in the House? This vote will tell which truly are, and which put political expediency first.
