Dresden crowds tell a chilling tale of Europe’s fear of migrants

[snip]

Pegida participants feel buoyed by the fact they are part of a growing movement across Europe of voters who feel that mainstream politicians are far too lenient on immigration. At a typical Pegida rally, supporters talk of their anger that Germany is being overrun by Muslim immigrants; they say many are criminals who need to be deported immediately and they call for an obligatory integration programme. Banner slogans read: “We want our homeland back” and “Send the criminal asylum seekers packing”.

Fears among chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservative alliance were already rife that it is losing considerable support to the budding Eurosceptic, and ever more anti-immigration, Alternative für Deutschland party (AfD). Merkel herself has been accused of creating a vacuum on the right due to her consensus style of politics, which the AfD, and now Pegida – to whom the AfD has openly given its backing – have willingly managed to fill.

The growth of Pegida has only increased calls for the government to tighten asylum rules and speed up the deportation process to appease voters. With so much pressure from within her own ranks, Merkel’s hard-hitting reaction to the group last week was therefore bold and surprising. “I say to all those who go to such demonstrations: do not follow those who have called the rallies, because all too often they have prejudice, a chilliness, even hatred in their hearts,” she said in her televised address to the German people.

Opposition to Islamization of Germany and Europe is painted as anti-immigrant and racist.

Which it is.

Look, there's nothing wrong with wanting your settled society to remain as it is, and to use legislation and other measures to achieve that goal.

An Islamic Germany would not be Germany. A 50% black Japan would cease to be Japan.

As, of course, a 50% white Ghana would no longer be Ghana.

Don't be blinded by scare words like "anti-immigrant" and "racist".

Most countries - certainly those with a future - are "anti-immigrant" in some sense. Most countries - certainly those with a future - possess and seek to retain a character typical of their majority racial grouping. This is what is called "normal".

Malaysia strictly regulates Chinese immigration and strictly limits opportunity for Chinese residents. Japan does not allow immigration at all. Subsaharan African countries do not allow whites to immigrate or own property. Latin American countries have some of the most stringent immigration restrictions on the planet.

To support, or even to tolerate, Islamization of Germany and Europe is VERY VERY VERY abnormal, both on an historical and as a worldwide comparative basis.

The headline suggests there's something wrong with opposing immigration of non-Christians and non-whites into Christian, white countries, and only into those countries.

THAT'S racist.

Women seem more susceptible to Obamabotulism than men. A little of the poison and they’re hooked.

More like a rejection of the tyranny of Islam.

“Setup for another “beneficial crisis”. Remember, this is the same woman that declared so-called multiculturalism a “failure” back in 2010.”

YUP! What a disappointment she is.

OK, imagine a tolerant Islam.

Would that make it "racist" to oppose a change, through immigration, of the majority religion of, say, Denmark?

What about Thailand?

What about Rwanda?

If you're OK with #1 and not #s 2 & 3, that's not tolerance of Islam. That's anti-Christian.

And if you're OK with African immigration into Denmark, but are OK with Thailand and Japan forbidding it, that's not tolerant. That's anti-white.

It’s statistically true that there are more blinkered women than men in the US... but there are plenty of blinkered men, too. Try working in an office in NYC.

I believe unlike the US, Germany doesn’t make life easy on immigrants; they are denied citizenship and accompanying benefits. I’m not familiar with the current situation, but for decades Germany used Turks as a cheaper unskilled working class.

Someone should explain to them that Mohammedanism is a religion and not a race.

It sounds to me like what Merkle is doing is to deny representation to the citizenry and in lieu of that is telling them to not feel angry about being disenfranchised but to instead think happy thoughts.

For Germans of Merkel's generation, it is perfectly normal to have a chancellor who must be acceptable to USG (or to the KGB). The official religion of USG is multiculturalism, sexual perversity, and anti-Christianity. Therefore, Merkel's views are perfectly predictable.

The rising generation in Germany? Perhaps it will be different.

Notice this is Dresden.

In East Germany, people who lived under despotic regimes and have been freed are much more likely to resist that sort of tyranny.

You can't fool the East Germans, they don't want to be controlled again.

I WOULD say this is why Merkel, who is on "Right" Faction in Germany is from the Former DDR and has the Chancellorship.

BUT this article may invalidate my point >:(

I wonder when these people will do an article of how anti immigration American Indians were. That they were nothing more than Europhobic racists. Oh that’s right, the American Indians are the minority now. thus they cannot be subjected to the racist label. Instead they are the oppressed. I just can’t believe those racist Europeans do not want to become the oppressed minority especially when it means they will no longer be anti immigrant racists.

Merkel in a burqa. Her country is being over-run, and she is still an appeaser. The Germans need to retire her ASAP.

Really not too much different than what is happening here, yet we are doing nothing in regards to "retiring" the white hut muzzie, and in fact Boehner is assisting him!

At least the Swedish Vikings are beginning to resist!

I am one of those rational locals who wants our counyry run for BRITISH people ie Indian, Jewish, Carribean etc.
The very sinister problem that we now face is when we apply for any public sector job, armed forces, or voluntary placement is that we are automatically checked for membership of any far - right parties (in my case UKIP).
I can’t speak for America, but we are now told that we have to modernize and adapt to newcomers, not the other way round.
Some of you may remember me posting on here about my criminal conviction for Religiously Aggrevated Insult, after I helped organize pro- Israel and pro- US demonstrations.
Thanks to some of you freepers giving me great advice, that conviction got overturned, but as you all know, freedom costs, and a supposedly CONSERVATIVE government is trying to take mine away.
All this on the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta.

Why would any society's members want to bring in a protected class of foreigners who can break laws and rain havoc upon the natives with impunity?

Their acting accordingly isn't anti-immigration, it's common sense born of experience.

No wonder politicians don't get it.

Not unexpected, though. Pro-European Union types bounce from one extreme to the other, if they think it will perpetuate governing by crisis. And one thing in particular that has happened since 2008 is the extension of Germany’s hegemony over the EU. Watch out for someone to come after Merkel that will swing things back to the hawkish side, and further that hegemony.

Oh, the politicians are doing this deliberately. Remember what Goering once said:
The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders—that is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country. …
What you are witnessing in action is governing by crisis, like Obama has been up to. Merkel, after declaring multiculturalism a “failure” back in 2010, is now playing the other side in order to induce demand for a leader that will “solve” the present crises.

Yep, that's the inconvenient truth of our own situation.

Sadly we've learned that, when the student is ready, a teacher will appear.

Then we learned that the teacher who appeared has taught the students to never let a crisis go to waste...and if you don't have a crisis handy, then create one.

Unless we drop this class, the next step in our education is either grad school or reform school.

This perhaps is the worst legacy of all of Hitler and the Nazis. That the legitimate desire to preserve ones’ culture ultimately leads to cries of “Nazi!”
