The whole ruse is getting OLD, BORING, and IT ISN'T TRUE.
Our lives are lower than we might like to think. Remember what the Lord said about hateful thoughts. Getting a second chance gets confused with getting excused. And the Lord well knows it, and is not automatically merciless, but does insist we get our perspectives right. Preferring us not to commit ourselves to hell against His desire. But permitting it rather than to make a mockery of what love is.
The Lord can choose who is going to appear in a certain age without forcing their will. Noah was about saving humankind, not just one family.
There is a difference between thinking of ourselves as beloved children of God who have gone astray, versus being some sort of piles of garbage that God holds His nose to save despite our utter worthlessness.
As the latter makes no sense to me, while the the former does, I go with the former.
YMMV.
We’re saved from the state of garbacity (is that a word?) that we wished upon ourselves in the initial rebellion.. That might not be quite as obvious at the outset of a relationship with the Lord.
I didn’t hear that they were botched. The guy died, right?
5 marksmen with rifles, only one of whom has the real bullet. No one knows who made the kill shot. Dead instantly and as painlessly as possible. Undoubtedly much more humane than what happened to the perps victim(s).
____________
5 marksmen, 4 with bullets, and they don’t know who has the dummy bullet.
