Kasich was crushed by the Bush machine the last time he ran in 2000.

I doubt he wants to set himself up for an encore.

Perhaps you were so busy thinking you were laying a trap that you missed what was really going on. Consultants from DC or anywhere, GOPe, “Tea Party,” or TEA party, are still people who base their livelihood on speculation. Unfortunately for them, the world does not have to play by their preconceived rules. What happened in my state happened. No amount of saying lets just go after Obama and ignore the 900 lbs feces spreading gorilla, Mitt, would have kept people from being bombarded day and night with lies from Romney. The same lies which caused people to question Newt’s character and honesty while the real liar and phony character, Mitt, was pulling all the strings.

The question to ask is, do the preconceived ideas match up the situation? Here in Florida, no manner of sticking to message would have helped because the establishment, the ones controlling the primary process, had decided this was not a primary to be concerned about the honest presentation of ideas. It was about making their choice appear to be popular.

So how did they do that? Trashing conservatives, flooding the airwaves with “what a great guy Romney is” ads. Making it difficult for Gingrich’s people to run counter ads or even ads “on message.” Gingrich’s strength is his ability to discuss ideas but it does no good if no one can hear him.

I’ll just mention this as well, Gingrich also had a policy problem. He came into the state talking up amnesty. People make a mistake about Florida. There are quite a few voting hispanics here, but it is not California. We do not go crazy for amnesty because unlike California, most of the hispanic people in Florida are here legally from Puerto Rico and Cuba. Many of them don’t like the idea of people coming here illegally. While Newt was on message, talking up amnesty, he was turning voters off. Before you decide to stay on message to get voters, you need to make sure what you are saying works in that state.

LOL! The “Don’t you know who I am!” response. If you are wise, you’re one of “We the people.”

Thank you for the offer of the book, but I think I already have it somewhere in my stack. May God bless you and have a very good New Year!

That is why we were so flabbergasted down here at what happened in the general election. Mitt was no where to be found. He did nothing. I got maybe one mailer, a couple radio and tv ads, no phone calls. We knew what he was capable of, we’d seen him go after Newt, but he didn’t do a thing against Obama.

Wasn’t that something. Here in NE FL I got way, way more GOP mail in 2014 than I did in 2012!

Adelson wanted Obama beaten, period. He thought Newt’s message was the one to do it. He gave to newt even with the threats of retaliation from Mitt’s powerful allies.

Don’t bore me with your conspiracy theories. I live on the outside, but for a few months, I was on the inside.....

You accused me of being a typical GOP consultant - I simply destroyed that myth. Glad you already have the book.

John Kasich withdrew before the primaries as did Lamar Alexander, Pat Buchanan, Elizabeth Dole, former VP Dan Quayle and Senator Bob Smith of NH

Your point is what?

My point is his cash flow dried up when GW Bush threw his Texas-sized hat into the ring.

Kinda hard to make an impact against a former President’s son when your donor base jumps ship.

Bush is unquestionably the most conservative member of his family of famed leaders.

This is not unlike being the best hockey player on Guam.
