First it was the Boston Globe. Then came the New York Times. Then Politico and Bloomberg and now CNN.
The Jurassic media is on the march, and their goal is to help the Republicans nominate Jeb Bush in 2016. In order to achieve this goal, they have started to soften the battlefield of ideas with their stockpile of shallow psychological tactics.
This is just the same old psy-ops the left always tries. And why not? It almost always works on the Republican establishment in Washington. Inside the GOP-e in DC, reality does not matter -- only polls and media opinions do. Its Orwellian, as we can tune in and watch polls and media opinion work its voodoo on elected officials like John Boehner and Mitch McConnell, not to mention wizards like Karl Rove and other clueless Republican strategists.
Youve probably seen this. Its fairly obvious. We remember that the mainstream media helped John McCain get nominated in 2008 and then Mitt Romney in 2012 -- and immediately made sure both got crushed in the General Elections. Of course, McCain and Romney were favored by the media in the first place because neither could expose the inherent problems of liberal big government or espouse a clear vision.
And this media narrative -- which all too often this includes so-called conservatives like Brit Hume, Charles Krauthammer, and George Will -- is always the same. It goes like this:
Republicans must appeal to moderates and independents
Republican brand in trouble so must not seem too Republican
fake right in the primary and then go middle for the general
. cannot criticize the black guy, or the girl, etc, because soccer moms in Ohio will hate you
blah blah blah.

I’d vote for McCain over Bush solely out of principle. If Bush becomes the nominee, I’ll stay home. Period. Like I did with McConnell.
Crap crap crap.
Republicans who actually believe only moderates can win a presidential election are deluded. The rest who want moderates belong in the other party.
We must either take back the party or create a new one. I recommend we flood Cleveland for the 2016 RNC convention and take back the party like the Marxists and Yippies did to the DNC in 1968 Chicago.
We’ve been through this game twice now (with McCain and Romney). Let’s hope voters have wised up this time, but I won’t hold my breath.
The MSM will praise Jebbie right up until the point he becomes the nominee. Then they will open up on him with all propaganda guns firing.
Truth be told, even if they fail to destroy Jebbie—should he get the nomination—the MSM won’t really mind so much. Jebbie is a Democrat in all but party affiliation, and he would fit in nicely in the Clinton-era Democrat Party.
Is there any evidence that Jeb Bush will make government smaller in any significant way? I don’t think so.
If the GOPe is STOOOOPID enough to go there, he’ll finish a distant 3rd. behind the Fake Indian and either Sarah Palin/Ted Cruz on a third-party ticket. Then they’ll become the Whigs.
Great opinion piece — deserves to be read in entirety. Besides having a candidate able to articulate a vision, to win we must out the media who are the enablers for the radical left.
Here is the MSM take. Primaries: Bush most likely to be a moderate and appeal to a large chunk of America. General: Bush is to the right of Dick Cheney.
No one sees this coming /sarc
In fact, it's a lot easier to be a minority party leader. You just coast, and collect your bribes/"contributions".
I'm backing Cruz, and will avoid any help for ronpaul's half-crazy, doctor son.
Cruz is coming and we need him.
The House of Saud spends its’ money well!
WTF? How Tokyo Rove and the Establishment Lost ... Again!
I hope you are right. My confidence in the intellect of the voting public is not high.
Cruz it or lose it!
He gets all the $$ I can give him if he runs.
Has anyone deteriorated any more, and any faster, than Brit? He was great from 2000 through maybe 05,06, etc....since then, it’s WAY DOWNHILL. Same for Krauthammer.
Is this your assessment?
They must want me to have to write a sequel!!!
“Republican establishment” is a cumbersome term that lacks clarity. It should be replaced with the term “Republican left,” removing all doubt about what the Republican establishment wants.
only about half of Americans vote, even in high turnout years. Those who vote do so for a reason, and that reason is always that they care about something, or someone. You must motivate people to turn them out. Annoy them and they stay home. There's always room to expand either group. And the guy who turns out more of his supporters always wins.See, I Told You So

Its based on the false assumption that independents are moderates when in reality the majority of independents are ticked off conservatives who have bolted from the moderate left leaning GOPe.
Stupid assumption that they make but you are right.
By the way....no one pushes the Dhimmicrats to not run their rabid Marxist as being too ‘Radical’. But the GOPe is under the delusion that conservatives are evil but the Marxist Dhimmicrats are moderate. It boggles the mind.
