Boehner Ally Steve Scalise Rocked By White Supremacy Scandal

A member of John Boehner’s inner circle is under fire even as the House Speaker is at his most vulnerable: Exactly one week before the House GOP’s top official will seek re-election to his post.

“Every member who votes for John Boehner is vulnerable because not only is he unpopular with the base after his lame duck deception, but now he’s exposing members to the results of his poor judgement,” a senior GOP aide told Breitbart News after news broke Monday from the Washington Post and local Louisiana sources that House Majority Whip Steve Scalise spoke at a conference of white supremacists back in 2002.

“Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.), the House majority whip, acknowledged Monday that he spoke at a gathering hosted by white nationalist leaders while serving as a state representative in 2002, thrusting a racial controversy into House Republican ranks days before the party assumes control of both congressional chambers,” the Washington Post’s Robert Costa wrote late Monday. “The 48-year-old Scalise, who ascended to the House GOP’s third-ranking post earlier this year, confirmed through an adviser that he once appeared at a convention of the European-American Unity and Rights Organization. That organization, founded by former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, has been called a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.”

Scalise is Boehner’s second lieutenant, serving right beneath House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy. His scandal could put pressure on every Republican member who voted for him for whip. It also, that senior GOP aide said, shows Boehner and McCarthy are weak leaders because they either failed to properly vet Scalise or they withheld information about his past.

How did John Boehner not know that Scalise courted KKK money?

He had to have known, AND Boehner advocated Scalise anyway!

We’re talking about getting rid of Boehner.

He had to have known that Scalise courted KKK money.

Democrat Robert “Sheets” Byrd, was unavailable for comment.

Yes, this non-scandal, is far more important than any of Obama’s real scandals /s

Poor judgement. But that doesn't mean you don't get punished for having it

Scalise had plenty of time and opportunity to have addressed his mistake before it became news. We can only assume it was used to force him to vote against the will of the voters.

I wish someone would come out with some really nasty, easily verifiable stuff on Boehner. It might be the only way to get these creeps out of positions of power.

Hold on. Wait just a minute. Whoa. Stop.
Steve Scalise was accused of speaking to a white supremist group? Accused by the Southern Poverty Law Center? Morris Dees’ outfit?

Hell, I would take being called a racist byt that outfit as a badge of honor. To them anyone that disagrees with Al Sharpton is a racist.

My thought exactly. Obola & Co cavort and conspire with Jeremiah Wright, Sharpton, the black pampers, etc,and talk about "my people", but now speaking before a racial interest group is a problem? No-only a white racial interest group. And I have no love for Boehnor-I just hate that this is the battle.

“They should know, as the SPLC is the biggest hate group out there.”

You’re not kidding.

There used to be a cadre here at FR that would post SPLC material accusing mainstream immigration control groups of being eugenicists, racists, all the usual smears designed to shut down debate.

Now that amnesty and illegal immigration are on the radar of most Americans I don’t see them posting that garbage anymore.

Anything David Duke is enough to prove the case, but when they throw in any reference to the Southern Poverty Law Center, it sure brings up lots of question marks as to “objectivity”.

this leak smells like an internal power struggle between the two Bonehead K street crooks Scalise and McCarthy .
Bonehead keeps talking about retiring that snake McCarthy is a soulless money - power hungry disaster who would destroy anyone in his way to replacing Bonehead.
Its funny to see Scalises getting some payback for his destruction of the Conservative Congressional Study group.
McCarthy is much more dangerous and ruthless though.
