A female healthcare worker who returned to Glasgow from Sierra Leone last night has been confirmed as having Ebola.
The woman, possibly a nurse, returned to Scotland via Casablanca and London Heathrow, arriving into Glasgow Airport on a British Airways flight at around 11.30pm.
The patient was admitted to hospital early this morning after feeling unwell and was placed into isolation at 7.50am. She is in a stable condition.
She has been isolated and is receiving treatment in the specialist Brownlee Unit for Infectious Diseases on the Gartnavel Hospital campus, but will be taken to the Royal Free Hospital in London.

My bet is there are thousands of Ebola cases in the US right now and the CDC is keeping their mouths shut.
So now Scotland will have 500 million dead within a month, or something.
I don’t think so.
You can’t keep people quite that much. The doctors, nurses, waste disposal, etc.
Each case took up massive resources at each hospital. It is simply not possible.
So this woman was allowed to travel from e bola infected Sierra Leone via Casablanca, London, and then Scotland Airports with hundreds being exposed, brilliant.
Maybe there is a special facility being used.
“My bet is there are thousands of Ebola cases in the US right now and the CDC is keeping their mouths shut.”
You believe that the CDC, family members, friends and hospital workers of the thousands of Ebola patients in the US are all being quiet?
My bet is you are wrong. CDC might keep their mouths shut...but TENS of THOUSANDS of friends and family members certainly would NOT. It would make its way on to social media...and the lamestream.
My bet is there are NO cases here....and there have certainly not been any cases due to accidental contact that didn't involve healthcare workers...ie a bus seat or door know (as so many were predicting 3 months ago).
Attkisson: CDC Hiding Numbers of Possible Ebola Cases in US
Attkisson said, I called CDC not long ago and I said how many cases are being monitored in the United States and they said 1,400. I said, Where are these updates on your website? They said theyre not putting it on the web. This is public information we have a right to know and the media should not hype it, but should cover it.
Thats’ what I was wondering. With all her education, why didn’t she self quarantine while still there in the Sierra Leone? Does this really surprise her? There are going to be some health care workers who remain in denial until it’s too late. This category will perish, but the death certificate will show a different cause of death, so there is no publicity. Sort of like when AIDS started spreading. So many of the health professionals don’t think the restrictions should apply to them, like the infamous Ebola Nurse defiantly riding her bicycle.
They have monitored thousands, remember when the media was reporting everyone who was monitored and how silly it was?
ANOTHER PERSON DOESNT HAVE EBOLA, THIS TIME IN LOS ANGELES, AND THERE ARE TWO OF THEM!!!!
Flight AT0800 from Casablanca to London Heathrow
Flight BA1478 from London Heathrow to Glasgow, arriving 23:30
I’m thinking you are correct.
You’re the only one. I am getting bombarded with hate. Even got an email.
I think Sharyl gets it right when she says:
“This is public information we have a right to know and the media should not hype it, but should cover it.”
Unfortunately, it IS the media you’re depending on to not hype and report facts .... something the (ene)media are incapable of doing.
“it’s just a bad bad cold....”
There is no fixing stupid.
The media should not be reporting non cases of Ebola over and over, that hysteria had to die.
You can’t keep blaring the headline, ANOTHER PERSON DOESNT HAVE EBOLA! over and over, month after month, year after year.
Just wait until someone DOES have Ebola.

Monitored is quite different than having Ebola.
