Funny, a police commissioner accusing rank & file police of being political.
Never a clearer case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Push comes to shove, the NYPD will put their pensions first. Always have.

That funeral was held to honor Officer Ramos, and to bring politics, to bring issues into that event I think was very inappropriate and I do not support it. DeBlasio is a politician, and an issue, so he should have not attended. Even Sharpton is smarter than that.

Lovely Warren is reprehensible. The voters Rochester are contemptible for electing this affirmative action clown

Bratton, like De Blasio are unworthy of those they lead. They should be shunned and find that their security details have gone on very long lunch breaks.

Bratton has done a good job straddling the cop/politician line up until now. Now he will have trouble with the rank and file.

By remembering the greatness of those who held the office before, how can you do anything but turn your back on one who has so desecrated the office and the memory of those who came before?

Ehh, if you actually take a look, most NYC mayors have been “at war” with the NYPD (or, more specifically, the PBA). Look back at 1992, when they shut down the Brooklyn Bridge because they opposed the creation of a civilian oversight board. One thing to remember in all of this is that, much as they (justifiably) have the public sympathy now, they are, at bottom, a public employee union like any other. And they are currently in contract negotiations with the mayor.

Well, if Billy B. had said, "inappropriate", I'd give him a pass for past good deeds, but "VERY inappropriate?"
Back to Hollywood with him.

Respect the office, if not the man holding it.So then Vilhelm should have respected the police, right?

Chief:
The Officers didnt turn their back on Duchbagio, they were watching the area behind them for signs of any potential danger for safety reasons.

It’s very true that mayors are constantly battling with - as you say - the PBA. But I haven’t seen it this bad since Dinkins, Korean Deli Boycott, etc.

We don’t have politicians anymore; only kings, lords and assorted other elites, who rule over the surfs and servants of this once land of the free.
