FERGUSON, Mo (KMOV.com) – The Ferguson Public Information Officer for the City of Ferguson Police Department has been placed on unpaid leave after referring to the Michael Brown memorial as ‘trash.’
According to the Washington Post, Officer Timothy Zoll, the Ferguson Police Department’s public relations officer said no crime had been reported in connection to the memorial’s destruction early Friday morning. Zoll suggested the department would look at any video of the incident, but did not specify whether the department would investigate after a vehicle allegedly ran over the memorial on Canfield Drive.
“I don’t know that a crime has occurred,” Zoll said to a Washington Post reporter on Friday. He was quoted as saying “But a pile of trash in the middle of the street? That Washington Post is making a call over this?”
The City of Ferguson released a statement Saturday, saying they initiated an internal investigation, and Officer Zoll admitted he misled his superiors when they inquired about the contents of his interview.
Officer Zoll has now been placed on unpaid leave, effective immediately, while the department evaluates disciplinary action.
The City of Ferguson’s statement says the “negative remarks about the memorial do not reflect the feelings of the Ferguson Police Department and are in direct contradiction to the efforts of city officials to relocate the memorial to a more secure location.”
Department officials say they are focused on creating a trusting relationship with the entire community and taking steps to improve the effectiveness of the department.
All those impromptu memorials eventually turn into trash. I think they’re more about the mourners than the deceased, anyway. We have an obsession with public grieving in this country.
I wonder how many of those items were looted?
This is all so insane, letting a bunch of...... people dictate what is good and what is evil. Common sense tells you this is dangerous in the middle of the street, and unhealthy, probably a bunch of rodents taking up residence there. It is time to stop this ridiculous nonsense. Grow up and get a life even if it is on assistance.
Sure am glad we have a PC definition for trash so we can all be kept in line. Otherwise I’d have confused that illegal junk in the middle of the street with the Lincoln Memorial.

Brown attacked a cop and got what any reasonable person would expect. I have no sympathy for this thug or his family. And no forgiveness for the LIARS Holder, Sharpton, and Obama who use this to further their agenda of destruction.

The LIES told by Obama, Holder, and Sharpton have resulted in the cold blooded murder of two NYPD officers.
It is absolutely INEXCUSABLE.

People in Ferguson should know by now that they have no “free speech” rights. I wonder even if the rest of MO still has “free speech”.
Feces are a more appropriate memorial for Michael Brown....and more useful than he ever was. I'd say set the spreader to 12 feet wide and manure to about 6" deep:
