Bratton: Cops shouldn’t have turned backs on de Blasio
NY Post ^ | December 22, 2014 | David K. Li

EXCERPT

Commissioner Bill Bratton acknowledged that de Blasio has lost support of some police.

“I don’t think it (the hallway protest) was appropriate, particularly in that setting, but it’s reflective of the anger of some of them,” Bratton told NBC’s “Today” show.

(snip)

“I don’t know that an apology is necessary,” he said. “One of the things, a concern at the moment, is this issue is really starting to go down partisan lines, Republican-Democrat. This is something that should be bringing us all together, not taking us apart.”

Yes, there are. While I no longer live in NYC (I live on Long Island now), I was born and raised in Queens. Let me tell you — it ain’t easy being GOP around there. I’ve been called every filthy thing you can think of, up to and including “a steaming pile of dog (poop).”

One day, I hope to escape from this entire state and area, but in the meantime, have some sympathy for us here in the trenches. We fight hard, but our voices are often overwhelmed.

Regards,

Screw that, excuse my language.

Respect is earned, DeBlassio has earned none, so he deserves none. Let Al Sharpton show him respect and the rest of the racial flame throwers.

They should have mooned him.

That probably would have excited the pervert.

Commissioner Bill Bratton acknowledged that de Blasio has lost support of some police.

Bratton got it backward. The police have lost the support of de Blasio, because of de Blasio's disordered mindset (a characteristic of Democrats). Anyone with common sense can see clearly what is going on.

It is alarming when cops are killed for doing their job.

Thugs in the streets spiting at cops is OK - but cops nonviolently turning their backs on some liberal blowhard who has blood on his hands isn’t ok?

Gimme a break.

No, his pension.

As usual, the media feeds on the carcass of their own kill. THEY are the ones who, like Obama in 2008, HID DeBlasio's TRUE ideology from the voters prior to his mayoral election. They even went so far as to hide his FUGLY Zulu tribe WIFE from the television cameras.

The media is responsible for most of the unease in America right now. THEY are the guilty ones.

My brother-in-law retired from the NYPD two years ago. Still my sister is pretty upset what happened to those two police officers. One may not like the police but they better not attack them.

Of course he has to say that. He's a political appointee. His only alternative is to say, "I submitted my resignation as New York Police Commissioner today...."

He's probably the best Police Commissioner that New York can possibly get while de Blasio is still the mayor.

Al Baby - you’d dislike someone because they come from another city? LOL

Bratton isn’t even from New York. He’s from Bah-ston. How can you not like a cop from Bah-ston?

Democratic Commissioner Bill Bratton is a perfect clueless imbecile.

There must be no mirrors in his house.

Why shouldn’t they turn their back on Him? After all, it was just a few days ago that he turned his back on them.

Sorry to hear of your predicament and can sympathize as we live here in VIOLET Kalifornia; at least we have GR8 weather!

we run in ‘stealth mode’ here because discussing truth and logic with tree-stump-dumb robots is a waste of valuable air.

i agree with Dennis Miller, trying to live inside out. We don’t invite the mental midgets to our dinner table.

Cheers, hang in there and Happy Holidays!

Yes, having lived in the South and in texas most of my adult life, I recognize the visceral hatred of some toward New Yorkers with my New York accent.

I have never been able to get into local politics or anything near that because of it.

I never experienced that in New York, so it was a surprise to me. WE welcomed people from the South. my grandmother spent her adult life in New York, near the City and she was from the South. She lived a full life.

It’s difficult to live in NY, at least because of the cost of living, but because the few conservatives I know there tell me it is very difficult to be alone philosophically.

But I hear you. THe hatred of the NY accent is there. It’s ignorant and bigoted, and I recognize that from watching people like Sharpton, but it’s real.

bratton will have his own difficulties after not backing up his force, and for expecting them to be the ones to de fuse this.

Bratton is not trying to diffuse anything in anyway.
The response has not been “along party lines.”

This is a not terribly veiled threat of political and probably social retribution by the Democratic Party against officers who are democrats if they do not tow the party line even when their number are being killed.
