Pitcavage waged a continuing anti-militia rant in newgroups for years, and then was hired by the Justice Department (Janet Reno/Clinton regime)as a "consultant" on militia groups. Because I am in New York for a short visit and, as the world well knows, the city of my birth is in a period of racial turmoil, I am going to say something I have been thinking about for a long time. And because I am one of the relative few to have spent long periods of his life on both the left and the right and because I was a civil rights worker in the sixties. I think — though it is purely personal and based only on observation — I have earned the right to an opinion. So here goes.

right wingers are horrified by such. Indeed the only time right wing ‘expreamist’ get into a conferation with police officers is strangely enough when the police go to their land and try to drag them off while they are doing nothing to anyone else.
That tends to get on the nerve of right wring extremist who just happen to see the government as Thomas Jefferson did, a necessary evil who’s laws are legitimate only when interceding against acts injurious to others.
Ruby Ridge for example was about a sawed off shotgun and the fact that the Federal Government never bothers to insure that their letters even reached the man before they started killing off his family. So pissed off at the injustice the local police refused to help and his state Idaho ended up filing murder charges against the Federal agents that killed the mans family.
Ruby Ridge was an unjustifiable murder of an unarmed women and her children in their own home because federal agents couldn’t be bothered to do their job fairly. Even congress was disgusted by the miscarriage of justice and held hearings and reprimands on the matter. The truth is Washington should have left the matter to the local law enforcement who obviously knew a lot more about what was going on than they did. The man they were after had never demonstrated himself a threat to anyone, he was if anything only guilty of a bottomless crime. The subject of a distant nanny state and for that Federal agents layed sedge to his house out in the middle of nowhere and murdered his family.

In my experience, right-wingers treat cops much better than the lefties. However, they are a lot less forgiving of cops who abuse their power. Which isn’t a bad thing, necessarily. But zealots on both sides can be pains in the asses.
The buzz phrase for the communists was to condemn people who believed in 'the Constitution'.
The SPLC put out stories (lies) about white middle class, middle aged men, 'moving up' in conservative organization by killing police officers.
The lies were kept secret so the press wouldn't look too closely into the scam.
I spoke to a journalist about this before I joined FreeRepublic many years ago - and he agreed that if it was happening (cops being murdered by conservatives) that the press would be aware of it. He felt like I did - that the lie was a totalitarian move.
But the story was pushed - and believed... pushed by joint FBI / Southern Poverty Law Center efforts.
The Southern Poverty Law Center taught it as a 'vast right wing conspiracy'... and this was months before Hillary saved the country by spilling the beans on the very effective lie. When Hillary blamed the 'Vast Right Wing Conspiracy' for outing her tacky/slutty husband.. the jig was up. The term VRWC quickly became a joke... and lost it's effectiveness.
The secret was kept. A seemingly long term plan to destroy the United States was derailed.
