Jeb Bush’s Ties to Donors Put Rivals in a Bind Network of GOP Contributors Could Hamper Other Republicans’ Fund-Raising By PATRICK O’CONNOR and BETH REINHARD Jeb Bush’s announcement that he will explore a White House bid threatens years of painstaking spadework by other Republicans who have cultivated many of the wealthy donors loyal to the former Florida governor’s family.

Mr. Bush is heir to a vaunted network of Republican contributors built over his family’s two presidencies, his own governorship and other campaigns. It is one of the most formidable assets in GOP politics and could...

This matters, this how Romney kept all serious challengers in 2008, and then in 2012.

This matters, this is how Romney kept out all serious challengers in 2008 and 2012, he took the big money early, and spent his own as well.

It’s very serious. This is how Dole did it too.

Yep, it’s always how it happens. The GOPe controls the money and fundraising machinery and they’ll like Jeb just fine. Of course they hate Ted Cruz or anyone as “extreme” so the power to give also implies the power to hold back.

It’s just a damn shame that conservatives have wasted the past 6 years and now act all outraged that moderate RINO like Jeb or Mitt might end up as the 2016 nominee. What did they expect?

Sometimes worse than others, this move by Jeb is bold and early, and in 2008 Romney held big fund raising spectacles early, to send a clear message, and at the same time was letting it be known that he would tapping into his own money, which he did, by about 45 or 50 million.

The grassroots needs to preempt Jeb with a “No more Bushes” campaign. Sorry, we’re not interested.

One thing I will say about Romney is that he is far more accomplished than Jeb. Jeb gets a check from Barclays Bank because of his LAST NAME. His income is largely because of the Bush name.

Mitt started a multi-billion dollar corporation. Politically, there is not much difference between the two but Mitt is far more accomplished.

What?!!

You mean that Sheldon Adelson, Mark Zuckerberg and Michael Bloomberg can only afford to buy ONE GOPe liberal?

Say it isn’t so!

It’s a hell of a note when the three most prominent GOPe billionaire financiers can’t buy a whole passel of RINOs.

The economy must be worse than I suspected.

When he shows poorly in the Iowa or New Hampshire primaries, his donors will disappear.

That’s why we need the alternate party option.

Romney is pure scum, a pathological liar, and far, far, to the left of Jeb.

Romney does not, and never did belong in the republican party, not even in the company of rinos.

Romney is unlike anything that we have ever seen rise to such high levels in the GOP, and he did it in only a few years, he switched to republican in October of 1993, and in 2012 was the party’s presidential nominee, coming out against the pro life party platform, and wanting gay Scout leaders and a homosexual military, all decades old political goals of his.

I guess I’m just not politically astute.

Just how does a hundred million $$$ or so in campaign funds really influence thinking voters?

You see an ad on TV once or twice and then ignore the repeats. The candidates use the money to travel and stump, while always saying the same lame BS.

If people other than the LIVs can’t decide on who to vote for after just doing minimal research and using common sense, then those $$$$ are just funding the Election Industry slimeballs.

Yeah, and he’ll lose in the general squandering all that money.

Is that you Karl Rove? Trying to imply that Jeb is much more Conservative than Mitt?

Epic Fail. Jeb Bush is as much a Statist as Mitt and other evil GOPe elitists -- Jeb is 100% for Communist Core and 100% for massive illegal criminal invasion.

2012 was the very last time I will ever cast a vote for an evil RINO.

Jeb, Mitt, Christie and all other RINOs will never get my vote.
