In the wake of the brutal assassination of two on-duty NYPD officers, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani joined “Fox and Friends Weekend” to weigh in on what he thinks controversial Mayor Bill de Blasio should do to calm tensions in the city.
Giuliani said that de Blasio should admit he was wrong in putting too much emphasis on police conduct, as opposed to violent crime in communities. […]

Guiliani would squash this and order Sharpton out of the city. If Sharpton reappeared, Guiliani would arrest him for incitement to riot.
de Blasio has crossed the Rubicon at this point. There isn’t too much that he can and/or will do that will make much difference. He’s not going to resign, and there is nothing that he can possibly say or do that will gain him any credibility with the NYPD.
I can't believe thats not actually happening. I think the left feels they should actually be doing this, and they should.

The locals hate him for being the purveyor of law and order

He made the place respectable. Even the leftist there could see that. Did some goofy stuff, but darn if he wasn’t the most sane mayor that town has had for the past 30 years.
But it seems like when you look at the people before and after him, it’s almost divine intervention that he even won. Especially after 9-11. Can you imagine if a nut like this current guy was in charge?

Probably a one liner to the effect: “In other news, two New York police officers were killed in the line of duty today.” That’ll probably be the sole mention of this situation ever by NBC “news”.
